janine de la vega is there tonight and is telling us what the fisherman was wearing, and unfortunately what he did not have on. >> reporter: published reports say this man was from salinas he's 42 years olds and supposedly a father of two. it's been 10-1/2 hours since he was last seen on a commercial fishing boat that is named nani elaine, and it was based out here at monterey harbor. rescue crews say they are not giving up. >> reporter: a search stretching from the shoreline at moss landing to the ocean had crews from the coast guard and monterey fire and county busy today. a crew from a commercial fishing boat took off from the harbor at moss landing to fish for black cod. >> i believe 12 miles west southwest of moss landing harbor they knew they could confirm for sure he was on board. that was the last time they had seen him and about a mile later they realized he was not on the boat. they searched the boat and confirmed he was no longer on board. >> reporter: the coast guard sent a helicopter to do air searchers and three of their boats saturated a 15-mile area west of moss landing
