without sun dance, japantown may go down. you know, it sounds like they try to dominate my business, okay. and first thing i want to clarify is they kept on saying make many police complaints, police citation. there is none. we've been operating over a year already. we didn't even get one police incident about any trouble at all. even our alcohol license, we don't even have any complaint from abc, okay. and also the last time they say we got a violation, the violation is not regarding noise. it is only about 30 minutes past 10 o'clock, and that was my daughter's birthday, 25th birthday. that's what she celebrate and they request for a couple more songs from the band and that's it. and then the violation is only $200 and we pay for it. and actually so far we only got one violation for sound issue only, the past whole year. if we do the math, from the last hearing to today, and almost i would say approximately three months, we only got one complaint from the sun dance. 90 days, three months, we only got one little tiny complain

program with a focus on the recently designated sam jordan's bar as well as our current work in the japantown and west soma communities to document social and cultural heritage in those neighborhoods. and we felt it was a great opportunity to continue a conversation that started at this commission at the end at the historic preservation commission last winter. and certainly when the jh comes to you and the [speaker not understood] would like to continue that conversation about how the city can better respond to documenting that heritage throughout the city. one other small announcement was on july 11th, the department hosted a no zac clinic within the [speaker not understood] district. this was to provide technical assistance of the mills act for property openers within the newly designated district. there was a great turnout, over 25 property owners showed up, lots of questions and a lot of interest in participating in the program. those applications will go to the historic preservation commission and the board of supervisors this fall once they're submitted. and we hope to carry that mills

because ultimately we'd like to support our locally independent business and we want to support the japantown community standing behind kabuki. unfortunately the behavior along the way hasn't always created a situation where it's easy to put that support behind the project sponsor. so, you know, i'm interested in talking to other commissioners around. this limiter sounds very interesting. sadly, we can't -- we're not much of an enforcement arm ourselves. you know, we've had project sponsors come back to us, you know, for certain amount of times, three months or six months. unfortunately, a little bit concerning, we would probably have to do this every three months or so. but, you know, if there were some way that we had assurances that this would not be a problem, obviously that's our goal, to see is

supervisor london breed from district 5 which includes the inner sunset, haight/ashbury, lower hate, japantown and part of hayes valley. she was one of two supervisors in 2012. we'll talk to her about the tougher issues facing the city. welcome, supervisor. thank you for joining us today. >> thank you for having me. >> let's start by talking a little about your background, where you grew up, went to school and what of jobs you've had in the past. >> i grew up in the heart of the western addition, i grew up in public housing. my grandmother raised me and my brothers and i went to public schools here in the city. ended up at u.c. davis and graduated and immediately returned back to the community and started working for the mayor's office of neighborhood services and worked on treasure island and eventually

i'm the executive director of [speaker not understood] senior center located in the heart of japantown. we are a neighbor of cpmc and have been a neighbor of cpmc for many, many many years. the members of our community, the members of my organization [speaker not understood] senior center, the seniors, including myself, participants with the hospital. we've had a long-standing relationship. we also in terms of [speaker not understood] have had a transition care program by which when our seniors are discharged from the hospital and upon returning home it's been very difficult in terms of that transition and we've worked with cpmc to be able to provide that. i want you also to know in terms of transparency that i'm the vice president of [speaker not understood] fire commission and in terms of observation of seeing how the emergency medical services at cpmc operates, i've seen individuals coming in on all levels to that hospital and have witnessed the staff, the physicians, the nurses in terms of a care sensitive handling of all the individuals that come into that hospital have been part
