"today in the bay's" kris sanchez is live for us in san jose's japantown with more on what this means. if you count on the scooters to get around, what about that, kris? >> reporter: good morning, marcus. this is around the time we see scooter delivery drivers starting to drop them off. we found a batch upght, but if live, you may h aklgs the sidewe people dump them after they're done or sometimes they've been knocked over by peo to be included in an ordinance the city of san about today.he wild west, which is why city leaders want to harness the positive part of the scooters, and end some of the troublesome behavior that exists. they want to use existing technology, like geosensing. if you've ever had a shopping cart lock up on you in a parking lot, that's the same technology. one concern in particular is making sure scooter riders aren't riding on sidewalks or at an unsafe speed. the council will vote today to require companies like lime and wind to have a permit with the city, and the city also seeks to limit that sidewalk use. they want to use education, enforcement and technology
