my name is marilyn kriegel and i live in japantown.ow, i'm in my early 80s and i've been a walker in this city my entire adult life. i live in senior housing and want to thank you for making geary boulevard easier and safer to cross. but we are still being picked off like pigeons in the shooting gallery on the adjacent streets. it's not like the san francisco i've loved to feel unsafe walking in the middle of the day. the cars turning on a red light are only looking out for other cars and on coming traffic. not pedestrians crossing drivers making a left are only interested in other cars. san francisco is a physically small city. there's no reason for cars to be encouraged or allowed to cut time off their trip by making incursions into pedestrian walkways. no short cut is worth ruining the quality of life in this city. one of the major factors in making the city prosper is its livability. we have parks no more than a 10-minute walk from any place in the city. now, please ensure that it's safe to walk to these parks. put people first tha
