besides that, my experience with her in japantown, she's been very open and willing to meet and bridge your work with the community, and i think her voice is really important on this commission, and i think she's ready to lead. and like i said, no disrespect to commissioner moore. i respect all the years of service. i know she's been here over 18 years. i think fresh new ideas we so-called oldies believe in today, and i wish you all the best in your selection. thank you. next speaker, please. good afternoon, commissioners. joseph smook, with the race and equity in all planning coalition, we call it rep on behalf of reps. more than 40 community based organizations representing nearly every vulnerable and marginalized community across the city. it's imperative that we remind you that one of the most consequential and complex matters facing this commission and facing the city will be back on your agenda starting in november. president moore is the only person on this commission with the experience and extensive knowledge of the issues to skillfully guide the commission and the department

western addition also japantown and other places like the soma and displaced peoples.o make sure those 6500 replacement housing, some of those go into this particular project, i want to make sure that our young peoples in our community be able to start businesses in the african marketplace. in this particular project, i also served on the mayor's task force for the closure of the hunters point shipyard in 1963. and i told commander again and honorable phil burton and honorable joseph alioto about the toxics in the hunters point shipyard. so my father told me about it as growing up. when we went back to when bill clinton was the president, he signed the environmental justice law. i was there when he signed it, and i told him about the hunters point shipyard, and that's when it became a brownfield and superfund project. but i support this project. but i want to make sure the young people in my community get these jobs and business opportunities out there. thank you very much. oh, and i want to make sure the hyperlocal black contractors in our community get some of these

help reach members of the public in that area, we did a couple different events or engagements in japantown as well, the mission with the with powder. alex, is there any further detail you might want to add on other organizations that we outreach to? yeah, i would add we went to the richmond senior center, to the west of the city. we also went to nikos disaster preparedness council, as well, and got a lot of good input from a lot of organizations that are in chinatown working on disaster preparedness to inform a lot of the strategies that we included in the plan. yeah, in terms of your question was in terms of how how did it go or. yeah. so we asked a couple key questions was, what are your top concerns around hazards and what are what are your resilience priorities, some of the top priorities that we heard from people, which you can find in the executive summary of the document, if you're interested to look a little bit more, the top priorities we heard from people were especially energy resilience, waterfront resilience, transportation, and earthquake resilience were the top five things t

our largest challenges in creating this cultural district when we compare ourselves to chinatown, japantownle saigon, there's little communities there that act as place makers. when you enter into little philippines, you're like where are the businesses, and that's one of the challenges we're trying to solve. >> undercover love wouldn't be possible without the help of the mayor and all of our community partnerships out there. it costs approximately $60,000 for every event. undiscovered is a great tool for the cultural district to bring awareness by bringing the best parts of our culture which is food, music, the arts and being ativism all under one roof, and by seeing it all in this way, what it allows san franciscans to see is the dynamics of the filipino-american culture. i think in san francisco, we've kind of lost track of one of our values that makes san francisco unique with just empathy, love, of being acceptable of different people, the out liers, the crazy ones. we've become so focused onic maing money that we forgot about those that make our city and community unique. when people
