so that's what we get in reaction to all of this, jared. president obama won the payroll tax debate last time around so why are republicans going there especially now on the heels of looking at these positive december numbers? >> it's a little bit like the arsonist complaining about the heat from the fire. so, yeah. i think that the issue to watch going forward as i was just stressing coming off of speaker boehner's comments there, these guys come back and they immediately start to scrum around as to whether they can take this two-month extension on ui and payroll tax break and build it into the year extension that everybody says they want. they're going to start fighting over how to pay for it right away. the question we have to watch for and again it really restounds whether we can sustain, secure, build upon some of this. i think pretty good momentum we have is just how dysfunctional these guys are going to be when they start mixing it up around those extensions. >> jared beranstein, great to see you. thanks for your time. i want to pass
