jared, you've heard all of this. and is kristen is reporting there, this house plan allows the student loan rates to go up and down with the market and resets every year. the president wants to lock them in. so is the ownnus now on the sene to figure this out? what can they do to figure this out and make it to the president's desk with approval? >> well, the bill that passed the house, he already just said that he would veto it. so we'll have to get into some of this back and forth that's not uncommon these days. but very important for the senate, and specifically republicasenate republicans, to join in on a plan. and i would agree that fixing the interstate that student loans face is actually quite important. i don't see how it really helps for that loan to be variable, to go year up year, or even down year after year. i think what students really need is predictability there. so i like very much the idea of fixing or locking in a rate. i do want to say one thing. kristen mentioned that the president's idea allows s

so we know, jared, that the government doesn't need to worry about the gatsbys.ker boehner calls them. we need to focus on the middle class. what form should policies take that are going to assist, sort of shorten that wealth disparity and also generate wealth for everybody else in the economy? >> well, the first thing you want to do is to do no harm and to stop exacerbating the inequalities that exist. we have had, for the last couple of decades, and i would say both sides of the aisle have been implicated, a tax policy that is asymmetrical. that is, it goes in one direction and that's only down. basically you can only tax -- you can only cut tax. you can never increase them. i certainly give president obama some credit for pushing back against them, but remember, you know, he ran on a tax increase for $250,000 and above and implemented one that only started a couple of hundred thousand dollars higher than that. one of the problems we have is the tax system is actually kind of exacerbating the inequality story. and the second problem, as your question suggested,

how does he do that, jared?t is by referencing improvements in the economies of the region, particularly the mexican economy, which actually has worked as our economy has done less well in recent years as a kind of reverse magnet vis-a-vis immigration. one of the things you have to hear the president talking about when you're listening to those kinds of comments right now given our political agenda and what's on his docket is his thinking on immigration reform, and in that regard i think he has to make it clear that u.s./mexican relations have to be good and have to be characterized by cooperation on one side, competition on the other. what i hear him saying there is we should be able to cooperate in such a way as to get the immigration reform, comprehensive immigration reform over the goal line in such a way that doesn't paint mexicans as the problem. doesn't paint illegal immigration as an unsolvable problem. >> and morris, what are some of the president's overall goals for this trip? >> well, first of all, he

jared levy of zacks.com joins us for that, and international paper is your stock pick. why is this on your list? - you know, ok, i am getting really un-sexy here. the reason why i am getting un-sexy is because the stock market is a little bit edgy right now. materials prices, commodity prices have been coming down sharply. international paper, obviously, as the name implies, produces paper, cardboard, things like that. as their input costs come down, i think their output, their margins, their profitability will rise; and again, it's only trading at about 11 times earnings, which i like. - it's trading just below its 52-week high, so is this really a time to buy, to get in, while the chips are down? - you know, i will tell you, with the sell-off that we saw, the stock is actually coming down to its 50-day moving average, right around $45.70. i think that is a good buy point, and the reason why is, we are at the bottom of our current channel. to the upside, maybe 5-8% or so in the near-term. that is what i'm looking for here in ip, and if you want to hold it longer, it is
