jason brewer is in the weather center and tracking changes. >> jason: absolutely. temperatures in the 40s in many locations and i'm tracking the very last of the light showers moving through. a look at the big picture, a little snow in the overnight as well. even that wrapped up and turned to rain. a little left over drizzle and cloudy skies. temperatures right now, low to mid 30s, hyannis over to bedford and even into boston. south and southwest wind, 25, to 30 miles an hour wind gust it is a bit breezy. but that breeze is warm coming out of the southwest generally speaking. drying up through 10:00 a.m. warming up near 50. should be able to get there with a few peaks of sun from 2 to 4:00 today. very mild for friday. we have been watching that fire near fall river on doppler radar. that's a look at the smoke flume that was stretching all the way and east near the pembroke area, just hours ago. blair, heather. >> heather: breaking news following on the south coast for you all morning long. right now no visible flames at this hour. although they were visible at 6 a.

we begin with jason brewer who morning. i mentioned to you earlier how cold it was and how cold it is that my tire pressure gauge light came on. >> jason: i had the same ago, you bet. it's dangerous to be out in this kind of wind and cold with exposed skin, let alone driving around on those tires that have deflated a little bit. so extra careful on this sunday. the good news is, the winds are going to taper down slowly. but the bitter cold will remain. right now we're 5 to 11 degrees below zero. these are actual temperatures. those are not the wind chills. those are the real numbers right now. gusting out of the northwest. so the wind chill, 30 to 35 below. area wide, only those 20 below readings for the cape and islands. so we smash the records this morning. boston. minus 15 in worcester. and that was enough to break those records. now, for today, we'll climb above zero by about midday. not get up into the teens for most locations. stuck in the single digits for the better part of the day. despite the sun, just a bitterly c

fox 25's storm tracker weather meteorologist jason brewer is out there. some concern about the left over rice, right jason? >> jason: want to be extra careful heading out early. temperatures in the teens in many locations. cold high pressure has returned. so winter temperatures are back. 14 there in boylston, and low teens there from natick over to walpole. it's 26 in boston. as you get closer to the water, a little milder temperatures but still below freezing. so let's look at plymouth, we'll see above freezing temperatures by 11 in the morning. and with the sun this morning, that's going to help improve the roads here through 9, 10:00 a.m. you'll see worcester still it will take a little longer there. that fresh snow pack. a little sun today will be nice after yesterday's big time snow. today in boston, 35 to 39 degrees. still a few wind gusts developing this afternoon. we'll be extra cautious out there, cleaning up and cleaning up the driveways and such. way. >> heather: as you know, the heavy wet snow caused major headaches to people around the state a

meteorologist jason brewer have been monitoring those winds and >> they really are. blowing things around. with the onset of the snow, a little bit of the heavier variety and with the wind combined, of course, we are outages. the cape and islands. plymouth county as well. let me show you the gusts. 49, plymouth. 41 boston, logan. 48, nantucket. we are already seeing winds well in ex-tess of 40 miles per hour in many locations. 38, worcester right now. and we are going to be seeing it just getting worse. deteriorating through the day as those winds tighten up and we start to see wind gusts even 60, 65 miles per hour possible for places like plymouth county and the vineyard and the cape and even nantucket where those blizzard warnings are up where that is for, the 6 that is for, the 65-mile-per-hour wind gusts that will be blowing snow around. the model wind gust up around 50, nantucket. 11:30 in the morning and tonight at 7:00, we are finally beginning to see some improvement. the blizzard warnings will expire and we will be seeing danger zone after dark tonight. and
