our national correspondent jason carroll is near that procession right now. he's in new york, new jersey, where services will begin 2 1/2 hours from now. jason, i understand you have some new information about what's going to take place today. >> i do, gary. i spoke to a friend of the houston family who gave me an all-details of exactly what we will be hearing, what we will be seeing when the service takes place. it's scheduled for about are noon, but the family friend telling me so many people will be backing into the new hope baptist church, they might have to slide it back just a little bit. but let's go over the program with you. it will begin with the processional. the new hope and new jersey mass choirs will be singing "the lord is my shepherd" followed by a scripture read by pastor joe carter. and when i spoke to caster carter a little earlier this week, he told me, yes, there will be tears, but this will be a musical celebration of whit knew houston's life. and you'll be hearing about that. there will be a solo by donnie mcclerkin, followed by remarks

jason carroll is there in newark this morning. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning to you, gary. preparations are still under way at the new hope baptist church for the service to take place later today at 12:00 noon. last night at the whigham funeral home, there was a private viewing for family and very close friends. we saw cissy houston show up. bobbie christina was there as well. the street was blocked off in both directions in front of the funeral home to give privacy to family and friends and the sensitive private moment. also at the new hope baptist church, we saw so many people showing up wanting to pay their respects. it was the last moment for people to do that. this area is blocked off for invited guests only. those who showed up were leaving balloons, cards, singing whitney houston songs in front of the church. we spoke to a number of people about the privacy and they respect the family's wishes. >> i'm happy the family took the position of making it private because this is her. this is who she really is. th

jason carroll can update us on what we can expect when the service gets under way. order of the service today? >> well, i can tell you i heard you guys talking about the long list of people that we can expect and that it could go on for hours. when you hear this list, you can certainly understand why. you've already heard the vocal talents of the new hope mass choir and the new jersey mass choir. gospel music very near and dear to whitney houston's heart and her family's heart so expect to harry a lot of that. i want to give you the rundown of who is expected to be here today. we do know that that pastor joe carter will be delivering the scripture. when i spoke to him earlier this week, soledad and piers, he told me i know there's going to be a lot of tears out there today but this will be a moment to celebrate the musical talents of whitney houston. also donnie mccrerkan will be singing. we're expected to hear remarks from tyler perry, also a solo from b.b. winans, expect to hear the rendition of "home." then following that will be remarks from bishop t.d. jakes an

our jason carroll covering it live for us in bellefonte, pennsylvania. what's going on, jason?n, used to review a number of different topics. namely bail modification for jerry sandusky. basically what was happening today, the prosecution wanted sandusky's bail conditions to be restricted. currently, as you know, he's under house arrest. well, there have been a number of complaints within the neighborhood, namely people saying that they've seen jerry sandusky outside of his home. there was some concerns about that. from the defense's point of view, the defense says, well, we think that the bail conditions should be loosened, if you will. that one of the points being made was that jerry sandusky should be able to have visitation rights with his grandchild. so that's what was discussed. a number of things, legal issues, discussed during the hearing today. but that was one point jerry sandusky himself addressed when he came out just a few moments ago outside the courthouse. take a listen to what he had to say. >> i have a wife who came home after visiting with grandchild or who's

cnn's jason carroll actually talked with the ar shall bishop of new york about this. at did he tell you, jason? >> well, kyra, first let me start off by saying you know there's a specific reason why we've reached out to archbishop timothy dolan. he's the very same man who wrote that editorial in the "wall street journal" criticizing the president saying the administration's new policy would force individuals to violate their moral teaching if they had to provide contraceptive coverage. the new rule would require all employers, even religious ones, such as schools or hospitals, to offer birth control under their health care plans. churches and other houses of worship would be exempt, but there has been a great deal of back lash from some in the catholic community and now it seems the administration may be willing to find some common ground. and i asked archbishop dolan about that when i caught up with him late yesterday. >> reporter: apparently the administration is looking for some ways to find some wiggle room here in this. it says sources say policy makers are lookin

jason carroll is live outside senator county courthouse in pennsylvania.we were talking about yesterday is this whole court issue that sandusky gets to sit there and watch children as they come and go from school. what do you think is going to happen there? >> reporter: well, a couple of things. we do know that, as you know, sandusky is allowed to be out on his back porch and neighbors have been complaining. for example, they were complaining when they saw him out, zoraida, shoveling snow. we spoke to his attorney and his attorney tells us when he was out there shoveling snow he had permission from his probation officer before he did that. there were complaints that he was out on his back porch looking at children. but once again, his attorney says that incident is related to the fact that there is a woman outside with her young child. sandusky saw them, they saw him. he went right back inside after that. the bottom line is this, the defense in this particular situation wants looser restrictions on his house arrest. they want sandusky to be able to go out

let's go to jason carroll, who's standing by outside the funeral -- outside the church, and i understandisited the church for the first time earlier, and you spoke with whitney houston's pastor? >> you know, jessica, he spoke so much about how much love there is in the community for whitney houston. you can see evidence behind me, all the cards, the balloon, the flowers outside the church. as we've been standing here, cars have been rolling by, they play gospel music. pastor carter talked about how much whitney houston loved gospel, very close to her heart. there's video we have of whitney performing as a child here at the church. snazz what a lot of people remember about her. i spoke to pastor carter about what he remembered about whitney. also, jessica, he filled me in on what is expected at the service here on saturday. >> reporter: what will you say? it's such an occasion that so many will be looking for comfort. what words will you be turns to? >> to ignore the pain of this would be erroneous. we have to acknowledge the fact that we are all hurting. this is a painful, painful thing
