cnn's jason carroll has more. >> reporter: these two picturesque beachfront villas in the bahamas likelyk the life of another. michael and his wife robbie phillips were from tennessee and owned a travel agency. robbie's travel blog says their agency was preferred by sandals resorts and she appeared to actively promote their properties. vincent schiarella and his wife donnis were staying at a neighboring villa. both villas share a common wall and have separate entrances. last thursday police say the couples ate at separate restaurants in the resort and settled in for the evening. both couples were not feeling well that night, they felt so sick, in fact, they had to be treated at a local medical facility. their symptoms included nausea and vomiting. at one point they felt well enough to return here to the resort. the next morning, police got an emergency call from the staff here at sandals, saying that they had found an unresponsive male in one of these villas. then another call, saying the staff had also found an additional unresponsive male and female in a second villa located right next

jason carroll is here now with more on this. >> very disturbing story, officer mendoza is being heldthis officer in question, he says, shot and killed thomas t.j.sedario when he was essentially on the ground and essentially unarmed. this coming from the d.a. just a few minutes ago. it was back in early march when philadelphia's police commissioner announced that officer mendoza would be fired after a 30-day suspension. this was after apparently the officer in question, mendoza, ne had determined that he had used an excessive use of force in the shooting, a shooting that happened on march 1st, the evening of march 1st when officer mendoza was apparently in an unmarked car in philadelphia. and at some point the rear view window was shot out. he gave chase and when he gave chase, he ended up firing his weapon and shooting sedario. just a few minutes ago, kate, the d.a., who was very specific during this press conference basically said this young man who was 12 years old, basically said he was on the ground in a push-up position, essentially giving up when he was shot in the back. mendoz

i'm here, victor, with jason carroll and shimon prokupecz right now. let me bring them in. jason, i know you talked to some of those parents who are there. >> right, when you see that video and you see so much of that frustration and anger on the part of the parents, i spoke to one man, victor luna, his son is in the fourth grade, he was one of those people, the minute he heard about the shooting, like so many other people in this area, rushed right here to the scene. he says he was standing there for minute upon minute after minute and was just frustrated with what he called the inaction of some of those officers who were out there. he said that what he wanted to do was take matters into his own hands. i want you to listen to what he told us about what he told an officer as he was waiting there. do you remember what you were saying to the officers? what others were saying to the officers? >> i told one of the officers myself, if they didn't want to go in there, let me borrow a gun and a vest and i'll go in there myself. to handle it up. and they told me, no. >> how does tha
