jason what we you. tonight jerry sandusky leaves court a converted sexual abuser. i want to bring in our legal panel. mark geragos, jeff toobin, marcia clarkhat have you witnessed since you got the verdict? >> i don't know. there's so many conflicting thoughts that you have as you watch this. it's horrible what's happened to that community at penn state. i mean awful what they've been through. you think about joe paterno and that statement that was released and then today ironically being the five-month anniversary of his death which was hazened by this whole thing. people out there cheering, any time you have something like this, i mean, i think you had said anderson, it was one of the victims or lawyers had said there are no winners here. the idea of cheering i think is a little much. you think about joe amendola getting there and i just feeling, i guess, overwhelmed by all of this and talking about just having such a fatalistic attitude which is perplexing to some degree. and the whole thing i think is a microcosm of where we've reached today in these super size media trials. i think maybe the english have it right with the contempt of

jason carroll, appreciate it. so what can we expect once the defense team lays out their case? let's bring in former l.a. deputy district attorney marcia clark. she's the author of the book "guilt by degrees." also with us, criminal dense attorney mark geragos. and rush university medical center and child psychiatry to the american medical association. mark, so these two former penn state coaches say it wasn't at all uncommon to see a coach showering with young boys. that many of the coaches did that. adult males did the same thing. this isn't really a legal question, but i've been on teams in college. i've never heard anyone on the planet do that before. does that really sound like a good defense to you? >> well, actually, i can make some jokes, but i won't. the thing i like about it. remember who they're speaking to. their audience is not me in los angeles or you in new york. their audience are 12 jurors. six or seven of which have penn state connections. strong penn state connections. they start parading witnesses, especially character witnesses, who have a penn state connection to say this is what goes on. it's not something out of the o

jason, thank you very much. doing a great job of covering this from the beginning. >> let's talk now to criminal defense attorney mark geragos and marcia clarkthor of "guilt by degrees." mark, 29 witnesses. the defense rested today. were they able to cast reasonable doubt, do you think? >> i think with the right jurors, and i think they got the right jurors, that this could very well end up in a hung jury. i think the -- >> really? >> i think the character witnesses got on and off the stand. i think they got on and off unscathed in terms of the character evidence. i think dottie was exactly what they needed. i think dottie is the reason he didn't take the stand. she was able to fill in some of the blanks they thought maybe he would have to put up there. but that was a high-risk proposition. and then i think ending with that idea that the investigators wanted to coach the witnesses, i think it was helpful to them. i think you'll end up seeing a hung jury. >> marcia, do you think reasonable doubt is possible? >> of course it's always possible, anderson. i think the defense hit every spot they had to hit. mark's right, they ended strong by putt
