i'm jason johnson in for chris hayes. tonight, we had damaging new revelations and the story of how fox news deliberately lied to its viewers in the wake of the 2020 election. over the weekend, a new york times published this report detailing the, quote, panic at fox the days after joe biden won the election, and crucially after fox was the first network to call the swing state of arizona for biden. according to the times, top executives and host joined a meeting on november 16th, 2020, quote, to figure out how they had messed up. not because they got the key call wrong, but because they got it right. and they had gotten it right before anybody else. their goal for that meeting was determine how to angry networks conservative audience again by calling an election for a democrat before the competition. the times reports that they discussed several ways they might do that, including abandoning the sophisticated new election projecting system in which fox had invested millions of dollars. or maybe basing calls not
