about a metrics of effectiveness and we're joined by a former army captain and afghan war veteran jason kander. >> he was missouri secretary of state and is an advocate for veterans. jason, good to see you. this morning. i mean, the va is troubled that is no secret. what are your thoughts about this idea of shifting care for veterans from veterans from from the va to the private insurance markets well, this is a very typical position by politicians in the veterans space you probably noticed over the course of however long we've had television, that it's extremely popular for politicians to basically crap on the va. >> all the time. and don't get me wrong, like the va has problems, but they don't originate from the va where they originate from. is congress because we ask the wrong question when we create veterans benefits, the question we ask when we create veterans benefits is, are we doing everything we can to make sure that nobody gets access to this benefit? who doesn't deserve it and the reason that's the wrong question is because it begins with the assumption that there are veterans who d
