jason nichols. welcome to you both. when you look at the new year. what lies ahead for the 2020 race. how do you see this shaping up. there is a big plainfield about to be announced. in addition to those for we have bernie sanders who was also looking at running. we have elizabeth warren shoot his making a head start as we had mentioned. joe biden also who is going to be considered as well. >> it is a big prediction there. many are still talking about vermont senator bernie sanders. he is such momentum in 2016. some are starting to say he seems to be struggling a little to retain the support. ironically the agenda for working families will be the democratic party message in 2020 and he may not be the one leading the parade what i hear from a lot of friends is that the younger bernie is what we need coming from the writer there. what he think he needs to do to get some motor back after his wheels. i think bernie sanders have a great moment. i'm not so sure he is the person. so much has happened since 2016. i think people are looking for women to step

i'm joined by jason nichols, democratic political analyst and nan heyworth.g to us. all right. nan, i'm gonna start with you. elizabeth warren has not only explored an exploratory run, she's released a fund-raising e-mail. it says, i have spent my career standing up to big banks and powerful corporations. i didn't stop when i got to the united states senate. i didn't have, i don't have binders full of bankers and ceo's to call for checks to launch this committee. in fact, most of them aren't going to like what i'm doing. such a crowded field i have to ask you as contenders, where does warren stand? >> welsh clearly, elizabeth warren has made a name for herself among democrats and progressives as a crusader against abuses by the financial services industry. let's be honest here. it's the cozy relationship between big industries of any sort, including financial services and regulators that actually led to a lot of problems we saw, including the 2008 crash. so, julie, if elizabeth warren wants to be a champion for the american people, she should let president tr

work with the president in the new congress, here to debate that is democratic political analyst jason nicholsa matthew slip. appreciate it. what do you see as something that could be a compromise here? >> infrastructure is something the country needs. it is a bipartisan issue. democrats will come to the table and support republicans and we will get something done. we see people come to the table for criminal justice reform very recently. there is hope for things that are important. what democrats will not come to the table for is border walls and things we find to be unnecessary and wasteful. i believe infrastructure is something that is really important. we will see an infrastructure bill, democrats and republicans will work together for the american people. jillian: what do you say about that? >> a couple things. the president made a campaign promise which every politician in history, everyone who has gotten elected has made campaign promises and this is one that is important to the president and one he has not been able to get done. the democrats are showing 0 good faith in this process of
