republican strategist ned ryan and democrat strategist jason nichols, thank you for joining us earlyhis morning. i know it was a late night. let's talk about that. in terms of doing away with private insurance only two the candidates raised their hands, senator warren and bill diblasio. did that surprise you? >> yes, a little bit. i don't think elizabeth warren could raise her hand fast enough to abolish private insurance companies which would take away private insurance for at least 100 million americans were content with what they have right now. in a sea of medicine the only sane one kind of seem to be john delaney in which he said medicare for all is a complete disaster. most people don't understand how broken medicare and medicaid actually are. last year alone for medicaid and medicare there were 90 billion $90 billion in improper payments in 2018. these are broken systems and you are saying you want to put everybody into medicare. the fact is we don't need government run healthcare, donald trump was exactly right in regards to healthcare, it is about price and transparency, bri

jason nichols is a professor of african-american studies at the university of maryland and he joins usnks for coming on. >> thank you for having me. >> tucker: if the majority of college students are convinced that their colleges are hotbeds of racism, something very strange is goingy on. can you shed some light on that? >> colleges are a microcosm of society where you have some victimization that goes on and you have people putting a premium on victimization, i think on college campuses, though we are spending lots of money on diversity and inclusion, the allocation of those funds aren't used in the best manner. >> tucker: i believe you there. i believe you. can you just back up really quick? you say there is some racism on college campuses. >> absolutely. >> tucker: okay, but its exclusive illiberal. there are no conservatives running any college in america other than maybe hillsdale.yb >> liberty. >> tucker: 99% of colleges are run by liberals and you are telling me they are racist too. >> i think racism is nonpartisas or bipartisan, there is certainly liberal racism, there's certai

here to debate democratic strategist jonathan haste and jason nichols. way of widdling down the field it. might be a little bit premature. it might get rid of some of those lower tier candidates that haven't had a chance to get their message yet. it has a chance of making it so people have chance sound bites in viral moments versus trying to get a good plan out there that appeals to a lot of democratic voters. >> okay. and can you jump in here as well, jason? >> yeah, absolutely. i agree with my counterpart there that this actually will help us whittle down the field but at the same time, i think it's important to realize it's about people. it's not about big donors, it's about small donors. people who cast ballots. we have to narrow this thing down. 20-some odd candidates. we need to find who is viable. and i think that this is a good way of going about it. ed: and, jonathan, what do you say to someone like kirsten gillibrand who is worried that she is not going to make the cut, that she is not going to be able to be at 2% in the polls in later rounds h
