the "on the record" political panel is here for the "wall street journal" jason riley and real clearitics. what's the impact of brexit on the 2016 election here? >> well, i think we should start by saying donald trump was speaking from scotland which vote to do remain, just so we have a clarification. >> although they are now saying tonight they want another vote. they want a do-over apparently. >> i think there is a lesson here for america. more than half of the british parliament vote to do remain. more than half of the british public to leave. there is a disconnect there. the elites, political elites in britain spending too much time talking among themselves and not talking to the people they claim to represent. i think trump has tapped into that same sentiment here in the u.s. and that is why it is relevant to what's going on in 2016. this idea that the elites are out of touch, that there is disconnect between what's going on in washington and what's going on in the rest of the country. >> caitlin? >> i agree. i think the parallels are striking. especially what you just mentioned
