well, jay powell had to take on that, too. take a listen to his take on the volatility, specifically. markets have been volatile. they've been longer. you know, you've seen the rates moving up and down a lot. i think we have to let this play out and watch it. but, you know, for now, it looks it's clearly a tightening in financial conditions. and so we'll be watching it carefully. well, it's a tightening in financial conditions. is he not the only fed official to come out and say that, in fact, so many people you have cleveland fed president loretta mester. you've had lorie logan over at the dallas fed all saying that, well, maybe the bond volatility that you're seeing, it's actually doing some of the work for the federal reserve that's going to have ripple effects. what does that then do for cuts and for how that's being priced into the market? because if you actually pay attention here, the cut pricing is pulling back. now you are only seeing the market price in about three cuts as the most likely outcome. and that's really w

jay, great to see you. in the last couple of days the idf has really escalated their air strikes in gaza. in fact, a short time ago they posted online they struck over 400 targets in the past 24 hours. is this a suggestion these air strikes are a prelude to an imminent ground operation? >> reporter: jonathan, it would certainly seem that way. they're calling what happened in the last 24 hours a wide scale operation hitting rocket installations, anti-tank areas as well, tunnels, staging areas, command centers, israel's defense minister saying they are preparing for a multilateral operation, air, ground, and sea. we know they've continued today reorganize troops along the border with gaza as well as the equipment tanks and digging units there. and it would appear despite the white house asking for them to delay matters, that they are at least preparing to move tanks into gaza at some point. >> so, jay, yesterday nfc strategic coordinator john kirby says the united states is taking steps to make sure it's post

nbc's jay gray in tel aviv with the latest for us. jay, good morning. >> yeah, good morning, sara. and american public will hear from the president tonight, but we're hearing from israel on this already. the headline here saying, "biden dictates new rules of the game." a lot of that surrounding his push to get humanitarian aid into those in gaza who desperately need it right now. we learned overnight that israel and egypt have agreed to allow some of that aid to cross at the rafah border crossing between gaza and egypt. can't start today. they are repairing roads in the area that were damaged during bombing runs by israeli fighter jets, but they believe they can start some of the aid, food, water, and medicine, moving into the area as early as tomorrow. they haven't had a delivery for the better part of two weeks, and there are a lot of people, two million or so, caught in the cross-fire there who desperately need sot help. what we don't know is the duration, how long this is going to last as far as bringing this help in. but when you look at the situation as it's unfolding, you wo
