abc's jay o'brien begins our coverage. >> reporter: this morning abc news has learned the secret services preparing to dispute the explosive claims made yesterday by cassidy hutchinson. the former white house aide testified that former president trump got into an altercation with secret service agents on january 6th. hutchinson who was an assistant to then chief of staff mark meadows testified to the january 6th committee that trump insisted on leading the mob of his supporters to the capitol. >> i found mr. meadows in his office on the couch, he didn't look up from his phone and said something to the effect of there's a lot going on, cass, but, i don't know, things might get real, real bad on january 6th. >> hutchinson says after trump's rally on january 6th he was under the impression he was headed to the capitol in his presidential suv, but hutchinson testified that she heard a second-hand account of how trump became irate when his lead secret service agent robert engel refused to take him to the capitol. >> the president said something to the effect of i'm the effing president, take

abc's jay o'brien is here with the new details. jay, good morning. >> reporter: yeah, andrew, mona, good morning. it now appears the justice department's investigation is going beyond the people who attacked the capitol on january 6th. this morning, a former department of justice official is lashing out at the fbi after agents raided his home. >> i don't recognize the country anymore with these kinds of things happening. >> reporter: jeffrey clark said he answered the door in his pajamas when fbi agents came to his virginia home around 7:00 a.m. wednesday. >> i open the door and asked for the courtesy to be able to put some pants on and was told, no, you got to come outside so i came outside. they swept the house, eventually they let me go back inside and put the pants on. >> reporter: according to clark, the agents searched his house for more man three hours. it's unclear what they were looking for. clark says the agents took electronic devices. clark was in charge of the justice department's environmental division under former pre
