ad coach of the musketeers jay varady is back with me now. a nice relaxing weekend for you coach. how was it?(ad-lib)well certainly 3 we're kidding. it was a 3-game weekend for the muskies. the first and only time they're scheduled to do that all season. you beat the team with the best record of the three the dubuque fighting saints. you played for them and were team captain of the fighting saints back in he 1999-2000 season. what was it like like that?(ad-lib)so a 3-2 win friday night. then a lost 2-1 at des moines before the 5-2 loss at home to the black hawks. how tough was it for your team to stay fresh in that third game. it's only natural that they would get tired.(ad-lib) 3 the musketeers are just on the outside looking in with 23 games remaining. a lot of hockey left starting with you're back at lincoln. your 4th game against them in five weeks. what are the keys to those games?3 (ad-lib)friday night's 3 game will be here at the tyson events center. we haven't gotttt to see the muskies much at home in the past monon and we'll have highlights of that game friday night on ga

jay varady--"it's more circumstance for me. what's happening with the team at that time. i don't get involved with streaks, winning or losing. i look at the day and what we have to do to be successful the next day. and for us, a lot of times we look at the roster, and it's a constant shuffle. there really hasn't been any consistency to o lineup or our roster and sometimes a reflection of that is up and down play. i challenge of a group. hey, this guy's out today, who's going to take his spot? if anybody wonders what a coach does during the day, we spend hours upon hours trying to figure out what those combinations are going to be." the muskies have two chances to get back on track this weekend. friday night they'll be in chicago...the steel beat the muskies 3-0 last friday night. then after an off day saturday, the team will stop in if you're like to submit a facebook fan photo, just post it on our abc-9 facebook page. jenna/tim/chris/fred: (fred) tonight, look for a low of 8 and cloudy skies. tomorrow's chance of snow in the late afternoon and evening. the 7- day forecas

head coach jay varady joins us now. coach there's no way we are back here with the coach. coach, there is no way to sugar coat a 6-game losing s seak. 7-0 loss in chicago. how is the team handling the slump right now? >> we don't even talk about those numbers to be honest. when we win, we are on winning streaks or on losing streaks. we don't talk about the streak. we talk about our day. anytime you are in athletics, it is today. -- about today. >> one of the things as a coach you must have to manage is some of that talk in the locker room. negativity? it is abouttttitude. the one thing thatt we can all control is our attitude. when we get up in the morning our attitude? if our attitudes aren't getting better everyday, there is no such thing as finger pointing. >> good to know. the team remains 5 points out of a play o spot. do you set a goal? or what is the way that you approach a situation like that? >> it is pretty interesting. we are looking up at everybody right now. we don't talk about that. we talk about the game at hand. our next game is fargo. for me i don't look a
