you know, the recovery has been dramatic in jc penney. and this is the time coming in here now when we're coming into the holiday shopping season when any retailer should be able to make some hay while the sun shines. i think they will this year, draw in more folks than last year. and that's positive. >> if you talk risk/reward, is much of the risk off the table, that there's enough sights set on reward that you put some capital to work? >> liquidity risk is probably off the table for a couple of years, maybe. and if he's right about the store closings, if you close 100 store, that's something like 150 to $200 million to ebitda accretion. so you can see where the model really has the leverage. i guess my question is, is this starting to be priced in, and i think it kind of is. >> yeah. that is a good question. >>> coming up, considering buying a home? the ceo of the pulty group has three reasons to make it sooner rather than later. >>> then you may not think of ralph lauren as a tech company, but the retailer's new product could change yo

let's look at jc penney. everyone's hated jc penney for so long. >> oh, yeah. >> look at this long line here. volume at price and what this is an indicator of is where has most of the trading taken place? so we can see over here where the stock has been trading for several months in a really, really, really tight range. now 200-day moving average right here and this has been drifting down and the stock got really extended to the down side and really, really oversold. a couple of things and we get a low here and look at the volume. massive volume here and then we get a lower low, volume, not so much. so what we've got is a lower low on lighter volume. that's it willy bullish just because it's less bearish. >> okay. we'll look at it that way. >> so then the stock comes back up and it's now drifting between say 850 or 950. it's been boring people to tears. look at the volume here. there basically is none. >> something will happen big and let leigh look at the weekly chart, the next chart. this is what i'm talkin

you will get jc penney, koll's, nordstroms tomorrow.re we dealing with a high environment that will be around for thener future at minimum given the head winds that you just laid out? >> yeah, that's a great point. if you look through the numbers, the miss is, the gross margin was actually lower. they had said maybe a little lower flat. yes, gna the cost control is there. they are leveraging a higher sales base. it's of course promote. retailers are saying, hey, to get people in the door i gottesman to do promotions. although they're doing well on the omni channel initiatives. it's traffic by many measures, whether it's retail track or other company's reports. traffic has been down. so that continues to be an issue. >> margins are on obvious issue given the scenario in which many of the retailers are trying to operate in. >> retail is a competitive industry, macy's is doing a fantastic jobs to levels i thought they'd never reechlt i can't extran late that forever. we think that this stock is fairly valued right now. you got to buy these

what does it mean for the rest of the retailers coming out tomorrow like wal-mart and jc penney as well. >> i think it describes the challenges for these retailers. pence the numbers, they are impressive. the earnings are up year over year 11% during the quarter. they did miss obviously on what everybody was expecting. you are going to get hit off something like that. when you go through everything else about macy's, itself right now, i think this sell-off does create an opportunity. when you look at the valuation level, the dividend, the repurchase program and all that's going on at macy's and the huge commitment to the online world to be a real competitor out there when a lot of their competition never stepped up when they needed to i think for those reasons, this is probably a buying opportunity down here. >> i don't know, man. when i look around the retail space, we had a number of retailers come out and disappoint on earnings. you could say they were company specific. they're brand products, kate spade, michael kor's, when you see something like a macy's come out. what's been price
