after giving the green light on a police raid to clear out the protestors, mayor jean quan is welcoming them back. across the bay, mayor ed lee says san francisco cannot afford a tent city but he is paralyzed about what to do next. we begin our coverage with christin ayers in oakland, where the mayor is planning to meet with "occupy" protestors. christin, that will put her face to face with the very people who were chased away by police from city hall not 48 hours ago. >> reporter: that's correct, dana. there are hundreds gathered here at city hall. they gathered in the amphitheater at city hall for what they call their nightly general assembly. it's taken on the feeling of a rally and mayor jean quan is expected in a short amount of time to take the stage and address the very people who either witnessed or were directly involved in the violent crackdown here a day ago after that eviction of hundreds of these protestors. some said they are angry. the tussles and tear gas from two nights ago is now national news. >> is this your city? is this how we treat free speech in the united states
