jean: thanks. we do have new developments tonight in the investigation of a natural gas scare in keene. the report ordered by governor hassan now has to take into account a second incident this weekend. suzanne roantree is joining us live with that story. reporter: liberty utility officials say a power surge caused an air blower to shut down, causing an improper mixture of propane to enter the system. it the second time this has happened and right now, although they've added a 24-7 monitoring system, they cannot guarantee it won't happen again. back in december the propane emergency affected more than 120 customers, at least five keene residents were treated for carbon monoxide, and it took at on sunday the problem affected only one customer and it was fixed in just seven minutes. but tonight they say plans to convert the keene plant from propane to natural gas may be put on the fast track to eliminate this issue altogether. >> this incident may allow us to accelerate those plans, and switch to a d

jean: thanks. the police chief in portsmouth says more charges are possible after the arrest of two people tied to a string of car fires. jennifer crompton joins us from downtown with the details. reporter: jean, it was 2:00 in the morning on january 30th that authorities responded to a car on fire here on chapel street. and in the next hours that there was worry at the time that these car arsons could continue or even get worse. well, tonight there's relief that it's not the case. tonight portsmouth police say these two men, 23-year-old adam carolyn and 24-year-old michael brad york are facing charges related to arson and theft. january 30th five cars were set on fire, three were broken into, and one stolen from streets in portsmouth's south end to melbourne on the other. >> as you can imagine, you wake up and your neighbor's car is, was burned, then you find out it's happening throughout the city, you're certainly going to get worried. reporter: the interim chief crediting the police department a

jean: and i'm jean mackin. the snow will change over to rain as we move into tuesday, let's get right over to chief meteorologist mike haddad for the latest. mike: very tricky for traveling over the next several hours and especially overnight into early tomorrow, as the temperatures 32-degree mark. but even though they've been rising, they're still well below 32, holding in the upper teens to around 20. we've seen a batch of very light snow move in over the past couple hours, from a dusting to a half inch in many spots from the lakes region points south. from the lakes region to the mount washington valley, that's where this first batch is continuing to produce steady light snow, but just flurries to the south. connecticut, rhode island, points south, that's where the steady batch from this next inroads. and i would say along about 7:00 along the mass-new hampshire border to shortly after 8:00 or 9:00 in the lakes region, that's when the snow will begin to pick up. but to the out of the there's a mix. notice ri
