that was one of the first things i talked with mayor jean quan about. we are engaged in discussions in three sides of the bay, to talk about adequate security for the people who come here. we are still very excited about it. we know the budget analyst report caused some concern. they talked about the worst-case scenario as well as the best case scenario. worst-case scenario -- the money is not raised on the private side. we have challenges with investments and the agreements we want to have with the investors. the best side is we make $2 million after a billion dollars of economic impact for the bay area, 8000 jobs that will be created as part of this ongoing effort. i think we have the foundation for it, going forward. i think the private fund-raising is there. we have a good team of people. they are raising that money. i think the negotiations that are going on with the event authority and our board of supervisors right now to talk about the trade-offs, if you will, with these investments -- a number of our peers will have good discussions that might

my job this morning is to introduce genes -- jean quan. you know her story, and it is a great one. first woman elected mayor of oakland. the first asian elected mayor of oakland. first asian woman elected mayor of a major city in this country. she is proud of that. we are all proud of that. you know a lot about her story. you know she is a champion for youth, for schools, and becoming a champion for economic development in our city. you know some of the difficulties she has faced. some of them are old -- crime, problems with our schools. some of them are new and not necessarily expected like the loss of redevelopment funds, and occupy oakland. and she has had successes. she brought a great new administrative team to this city with our city administrator, under fire chief, the police chief, and developing really strong leadership for our city. she has also made some mistakes, and she has had the courage to acknowledge them, which is not easy for any of us. i know it is not for me, and she gets credit for that. the solutions to occupy oakland are not easy, and none of us can spell th

a second effort by a group called recall jean quan now continues to collect signatures with a later deadline the queen. >>> just hours from now a first ever study at how night life in. if contributes to the local -- life in san francisco contributes to the local economy will be presented. supervisor weiner requested the study in 2011 he wanted the study to focus on cultural and economic benefits of the city's night life. among the findings night life contributes 4.2 million dollars in consumer spending estimated 80 million spending money. it created 48,000 jobs and brings in 55 million dollars in tax revenue. the study did not take into account the cost of security and policing >> if folks were to head out tonight mike are they going to need an umbrella. >> after 11:00 in the north bay most of the rain will probably fall while we are sleep not much. a little snow up in the sierra too. let's take about the snow pack 34% of average up to today this time last year, we were around 127%. the it gives you an idea what a difference a year can make. whether it was la nina or not there are other fact
