jean shaheen said she would not vote for him because he had views that were biblical.nk about that for a minute. there is a constitutional prohibition of putting a religious test on a post in office. i hope they expect when the republicans are in position to confirm a democrat's president's appointees some time they just say no. i will tell you this, i like rand paul a lot. but he needs to vote to confirm pompeo for a simple reason. had rand paul been elected president he would have wanted his team to be confirmed and a president has a right to put the people on the field that he wants to put unless there is something memorially repugnant about them or if they are horribly unqualified. >> pompeo is a warmonger and interventionist. they are about to meet with north korea to avoid a confrontation and he already met with kim jong-un. this is crazy town stuff. on the mueller probe, the president tonight said basically, the thing has gone on, you know, too far. i hope it's coming to an end. they say are you going to fire rosenstein and mueller? they keep saying that but it

joining me is democratic senator jean that shaheen on armed services.senator, are you saying you are against mike pompeo? >> that's a good talking point because it allows them to not deal with the very real challenges that director pompeo has when we think about him as secretary of state. >> what are your concerns? >> well, i think the secretary of state represents the united states to the rest of the world. and when we have someone who has past statements that can be construed as anti-muslim, who has not taken on some of the hate groups that have existed in this country, who has made statements that can be viewed as anti-equal rights for people who are in the gay community, then those present issues as he tries to represent american values around the world. and then we have some of the other concerns around how is he going to work with our allies on -- as we look at the agreement with iran, as we look at climate change and the paris accords. and he's already been very vocal in his opposition to those. so i think all of those things raise concerns aroun

[captions copyright national cable satellite corp. 2018] trump: it is great to be with you. i want to talk about opioid addiction, which claimed hundreds of lives every day in 2016. my administration wants to use every tool at our disposal to combat the opioid epidemic, which includes getting tough on the opioid epidemic pictures and poison inutting this our communities. we have to get really tough and nasty, what ever it takes. we have to get this out of our communities. it involves all of us thinking misuse -- preventing misuse from starting at home. we're calling on all americans to prevent pill abuse and theft by cleaning their homes of potential he dangerous expired and unneeded prescription drugs. very important. opioid abuse and addiction can impact everyone. everyone knows someone who has been impacted. that is why we call this the crisis next door. most americans would abuse prescription drugs get them from someone else's leftover prescription
