janine de la vega is there with what neighbors are saying, jeanine? >> pam, you can still smell smoke watching over the house, there is a firefighter in there watching sort of inspecting all the damage inside and you can see it is black everywhere inside those windows and firefighters tell us it even burned holes inside the floor. there is video taken by somebody at the scene and it happened at this vacant house. firefighters initially did not know if anybody lived inside but neighbors told them that the house was vacant. they pulled out in time and it took firefighters about an hour and a half to get it under control. then they came out. >> we didn't hear but we saw fire and smoke though. mostly fire and smoke out near the backside where the kitchen is. >> firefighters confirmed heavy flames were in the can i have end area so it could be the point of origin. again, it looks like there is a total loss. back out here live you can see just how close they are to each other. at one point the homes on either side of the home that was up in flames, firefigh

janine de la vega has more on what we are learning about this accident and the teen's condition, jeanine? >> reporter: well, pam, let me tell you this is a 4th incident that happened in the 200 block near villa street. it is a highly used thoroughfare when a car traveling southbound hit him. he was on his way to mountain view academy and he was rushed to the hospital and treated for injuries. he failed to yield to the wed deadian. mountain view police have been ramped up an injured near three different crosswalks near castro street. in those incidents it appears children were at fault but they have proposed decoy operations for motorists failing to stop at crosswalks and intersections. now back out here live, we have put in a call to mountain view police to talk about their enforcement today and we know that the police department is asking for anybody who might have been a witness to this particular accident to give them a call and help them with their investigation. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 morning news. >> time now 5:07, we go from there straight to sal, it is early and quiet.

. >> a san jose -- janine de la vega just got off the phone with police in san jose, jeanine?reporter: i did get off the phone with police and they say nobody was arrested for this fatal stabbing. behind me you can see a make- shift member pore -- memorial and we are told by the football coach the victim was a junior. they held a victim for anthony and he was 16 or 17 years old and had a two-year-old son. people were very emotional and crying for their loss. police say it appears there was some sort of fight when school let out and a short time later they found the teen stabbed and died at the scene. grieve stricken families members arrived a short time later and those who knew him said he had some gang ties. >> we thought it was great for him not only to try to maintain himself academically but no idle time. >> reporter: homicide detectives worked into the night and they have interviewed more than a dozen witnesses but they are still trying to put this case together. they are looking into the possibility that this may have been gang related. right here, you are looking at a p

jeanine, we understand this is not the first time it happened? >> reporter: it happened at a 4th location and we do know in this case the teen was ruling the crosswalk when he was walking to school here near south shore line boulevard and this is a heavily traveled road and police want people to slow down and pay attention. it happened in recent weeks. >> he hit them and it was on his way to mountain view academy. he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and he was at fault for failing to yield. alcohol and speed were not a factor. >> reporter: they have been dealing with safety issues in recent months and they have ramped up patrols and in the last few months, grammar school students were injured in three different crosswalks near caster street. in those incidents, it appeared the children were at fault but they are trying to cut down on most wrists -- motorists who fail to stop at crosswalks. we know the response was relatively quick because the police was just one block here on veil have la avenue, it was very lucky that he got taken c

vega is getting reaction from neighbors and this is the latest outbreak of violence in that area, jeanine>> reporter: police are back at the station investigating and they have been here all along audubon drive in east san jose. the gunfire hit at least two cars in the neighborhood and one they have towed away and the other is right here in front of this house and you can see where the bullets hit it, you can see this minivan and where it is dented. they were close to an area when another group started shooting and one teenager died at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. one neighbor heard the firing and ran outside. >> i saw a kid laying down on the sidewalk, i seen him get shot and one neighbor came by and said, yeah he is dead and i was just like, wow! >> reporter: this is video taken in the last hour of police towing away one of the trucks that was hit by gunfire. police searched the neighborhood and spoke with people in the area and no suspects have been apprehended at this time. officers are still investigating a motive but they are

jeanine?rter: i spoke to a woman who lives across the street and she said she stopped taking her kids to the park because of the homeless people and the drug activity. now the bathroom, she observed people doing drugs in that bathroom and it doesn't make sense because it is a middle- class neighborhood and located in an older part of the town and it's not really known for crime and the only problems are here at the park. in the last few days, gilroy police have arrested several people for using drugs in the park and many people have been cited for drinking alcohol and there is growing concern because the park is across the street from brown well middle school. they are doing enforcement at the park because officers do not want offenders to think they can do what they want in plain view of the children. parents say this is long overdue. >> it seems like the park makes it really bad and there is a lot of stuff and we have had a lot of incidents with homeless people like trying to come in our hou

janine de la vega has more  questions that are being raised by the baby's mother, jeanine? >> reporter: the mother is grieving but the mother is also questioning how law enforcement handled this case. angel was covered up by brush in a field on the outskirts of the area. jesus espinosa led them to her body and he is the boyfriend. he took her on a routine visit and espinosa made excuses as to why he had not brought her home and as family feared, he was supposed to bring her back the day of the super bowl at 5:00 and his daughter called and she said they were going on a trip to disney land and she was lying for their dad and they never went to l.a >> police department found him and for the past two days they searched in monterey county where he lived. they don't know how or when angel was killed. the mother expressed she is frustrated that the amber alert was not issued. sheriff's deputies said the reason it was not was because they did not have anything specific they could attach to the case. they are working with their affiliate to get an interview with the family. janine
