ktvu's jeanine de la vega watching one of the popular detours.is it like at the san mateo bridge? >> reporter: we're here at the bottom of the bridge. if you take a look at this westbound traffic, you can see that it's definitely starting to get heavier here. cars are slowing down as they get off the bridge and come into the peninsula and head into san fran. again the traffic is a lot busier. cars on the eastbound side are zooming by. you can bet a lot of these people woke up early because they didn't want to get into bigger backup. that's most likely to happen later on in the morning. this bridge is expected to be one of the more popular routes, a detour since the bay bridge is closed. i want to go to the live camera at the toll plaza just to show you what it looks like there. it's busier than normal. it's not stop and go traffic. i would call it slow and go traffic. there was an earlier minor accident but now all the lanes are clear. that was eastbound to the toll plaza. it did cause a little bit of a glitch but it's all cleared up now. just re
