jeanine de la vega is live with what the city plans to do. >> reporter: they showed up here under thession that the tree line will be cleaned up today. instead, the city says its focusing its effort on the eastern side, the less populated side of the encampment. the city is signing a routine clean up in a few areas on the eastern bank of coyote creek. it may happen today or later this week. it should only effect 10 illegal campers, but over the weekend the homeless held a protest because they're worried more areas will be cleared out. they're concerned of the city's plan to put up a fence and gate. >> we don't like the fact of putting up gates and rocks it will prevent the ministry from get access to the camp and provide the food and support which they do. >> reporter: city officials say they will provide access to the dirt lot to those who need it. some out reach charities and workers, but they're putting up the boulders to prevent the illegal activity and dumping. the city says the reason it's not doing a mass clean up on the western side of the joung l because it's heavily populate
