jeanine nicholson this is my report since our last commission meeting. this morning i will be excusing myself to attends the mayor's department head meeting and i will be the department was requested by the mayor's office to give a report on our street teams to all the department heads. so -- i will be presenting that at 9. . 30 i have to duck out in a bit. >> last week i sent letters for candidates for the 131st academy. it is scheduled to start in january of 2023. there will be 50 may be more members of that academy and i know they have already started going through the medical screening with the doctor's office. covid-19 is still around. we have 7 memberos quarantine, and 3 positive members short term and 6 members out longer than 30 days. it is around but it is much better than it was in the past. >> had 25emt's and paramedics graduate last week and hit the streets and -- this is -- the final of the 60fte's we were allocated in the budget this year. i want to commends the training division and the ems division for really getting all those folks throu

our deputy city attorney jack, command staff, chief jeanine nicholson this is my report. since our left commission meeting. first i want to thank vice president nakajo for bringing the teachers here and all their families for a feel good moment t. is nice to do that, thank you very much. on october 15th, there was a drill out at st. igneighborius and 2 commissioners there were nakajo and commissioner fraser. and it was the city wide drill. good to see our in out there. on the 17th i addressed the new 9910 academy. there are 11 young people for those that may not know the 9910 academy is young people from the city amp program come to the department and work on the ambulance for 500 hours so they can get their required hours so they can apply for a full time job permanent job on the ambulance with us at station 49. they started a couple weeks ago and have a couple weeks of in person trinning and they will begin their ride outs on the ambulance. and so it is grit to see that program up and running and really getting young people this responsiblesful on the 17th, we had the a
