reporter: while planned parenthood leaders are hopeful future komen grants will be approved, jeannie monaghan with family research council wants the opposite. >> this was a pretty significant victory this week in the sense of an organization that doesn't want to be foreignally partnered with the nation's largest -- formally partnered with the nation's largest abortion provider. reporter: pressure also came from capitol hill. several representatives spoke out, made statements and a number of senators signed a letter asking komen to reverse its course. >> it was found they brought upon themselves and i think they've tried to correct it. unfortunately, it's going to be some time before this wound heals. they politicized something that never should have been. >> komen's apology statement says they will continue to fund existing grants to planned parenthood and will consider future applications, but only time will tell if komen does or does not approve any more grants to planned parenthood. >> have to keep our eye on it. >> sounds like they managed to make everybody upset before it was over. >>> t
