, jeff. >> that's right. it was a pretty wild weekend, as you were talkingabt,ou with that record-setting rain here across thet,ay area. some of the heaviest moisture has pushed to the south, but we're still looking at some scattered rainfall from the inland areas right across the peninsula. rainfall totals anywhere from between 2 to over 7 inches of rainfall in the santa cruz mountains for napa, picking up over 2 1/4, san francisco over 2 inches, and then lesser amounts for parts of the south bay with san jose with nearly an inch. a current look at the radar does show some moderate rainfall here from the interstate 80 corridor inland near fairfield, right on down the peninsula into san francisco. so, we're going to continue to see this as we head throughout tonight, pushing to the south, but that's not the storm we're watching. the storm we're watching is still offshore. that's going to get here tuesday night and wednesday, and it's going to continue to push up this train of moisture as we head into wednesda

good morning, jeff. >> reporter: food morning. two men are dead after carbon monoxide fills the home here in pikesville. we will have the latest on the story coming up. >>> welcome back. it's 5:46. new information this morning on the carbon monoxide poisoning in baltimore county that left two dead and sickened several others. it happened along the 4100 block of colby road in pikesville where we find jeff hager with the latest details. jeff, good morning to you, sir. >> reporter: good morning, charlie. early on in the investigation, it appears that a faulty furnace may be to blame for the two deaths that came from carbon monoxide poisoning in a house here in the 4100 block of colby road on sunday. the two men were sleeping in the basement when the deadly gas overcame this. my colleague cheryl conner spoke to a family home who -- member who says his uncle tried to fight the effects of the deadly gas but was overcome by it. >> whiles walk up e. tried to open the door and fell e was trying to open it but he couldn't. >> reporter: we h

let's talk to jeff paniri who is tracking the system. jeff? >> it only takes a drizzle on those roads, and when you're going 40 to 50 miles an hour, it takes the visibility very low in some cases. you see conditions widespread as we continue to see this moisture plume moving from northwest to west, all the way down into the southern portions of the north bay into the golden gate bridge region. as we head down here toward the peninsula, and also for the east bay, we're finding that moderate rainfall. some of that rainfall right now continues to be on the south bay from hoy 17 to santa cruz to los gatos. that's what r computer is picking up on, anywhere from a tenth to a quarter of rainfall per hour. this trough of low pressure is huge. it's enormous out there, and the circulation around that basically is goiha to feed into gthis moisture here as we head into this weekend, keeping this period of rain and wind on and off again, all the way through sunday at this point. for tonight specifically, rain increases from he current moment that we're cur

nbc's jeff rossen is in brooklyn for us. jeff? >> reporter: hi, lester. good evening to you. as you pointed out a couple nights ago, new york city prides itself on a great response to emergencies. and normally they are. even the mayor admitted today, they made some mistakes. take a look around, the evidence is here. this street is a mess, many streets around here are a mess. and now two people are dead, including a newborn, because the ambulances simply couldn't get to them. tens of thousands of new yorkers woke up to this today. untouched, unplowed side streets three days after the storm. buses, ambulances, even plows themselves stuck. >> not even a fire truck could get through here. there's an old age home right down there. they never cleaned the streets. >> reporter: these impassable streets have already seen tragedy. unable to leave home, a woman gave birth in the lobby of her building. it took paramedics nine hours to show up and her newborn died. an elderly woman had trouble breathing. help didn't arrive for three hours but too late to help. >> i miss her. she's my life
