chief meteorologist jeff ranieri joins us now. jeff, you're playing both fires. the oak fire now raging out of control. how is it affecting our air quality here? >> i think really at this point we'll be okay on the air quality as we head through the next 24 hours. you can see where the fire started, the oak fire right near midpines, very close to yosemite national park. closer view of what firefighters are dealing with right now on those conditions. it's a hot 98. winds are relatively light. gusts up to 15 tonight. tomorrow we're going a little cooler 93, but gusts up to about 20. so this fire is already moving through jersey dale and also dara. a wider view of this, if they're unable to contain it, then we may see it reach for the washburn fire burn and it is going to get closer and closer to yosemite at this point. so this definitely is one to watch. as we, of course, head through the next couple of weeks. when it comes to the smoke 11:00 p.m. tonight, most of it moving through the yosemite and tahoe. coming up through the bay area, i'm tracking the possibility

let's get to jeff ranieri. jeff, weather is everything when it comes to wildfires. what are you seeing this weekend? >> we are seeing warmer temperatures coming our way and you can see the air and water drops, fire retardants, and all that smoke. and none of those air drops tonight because it will be too dark and too smoky. let's get you this to show you what's happening with the fires. and south of rowana. so the way the wind is blowing, it will continue to push this fire towards the meadow at this point. what about that smoke? in the upper atmosphere this smoke travels, we do think we will see some haze make it towards tahoe by tomorrow morning. we'll stay with the same picture into saturday night. by sunday though we could see some moderate smoke make it into the foothills of the sierra, also close to tahoe. if you're headed near the central valley or tahoe, you need to watch out for the smoke. details on the heat and how hot it will get here in about 15 minutes. >> jeff, we'll see you in a bit. thank you so much. >>> tonight we learned a bay area doctor and prof

chief meteorologist jeff ranieri joins us now. and jeff, even though we have some really hot days, we've also had some mild temperature days that might have helped. >> the weather definitely has been contributing to the fact that we've had lower acres when it comes to the fires that have been burned. some excellent news to share with you tonight. really the number one thing we've been seeing is the late season is storm systems moving in to the west. it hasn't meant any rainfall for us, but it has brought in the cooler air. now the second thing we've been tracking is that persistent fog pattern at the coastline. you can see it going strong right now. the live camera moving into san francisco. and so let's get a look at the overall impact here. what you're going to see is in livermore and usually one of the hottest locations. four days at 100 or hotter since june 1. in livermore 11 days in june below average. temperatures ranging 69 to 81 degrees. and in july, 10 days below average with numbers as low as 69 degrees. next ten days no

tonight, stephanie magallon is in pittsburgh with a firefight but let's start with chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. >>> what is the wind looking like tonight in the overnight hours? >> it will stay gusty here but it is pretty remarkable that firefighters are getting some handle on this tonight. here is concord, just off to the north and the east of that, as we get a closer view. it has been affecting pittsburgh with some of that figure smoke. right now, winds of 70 miles per hour, wind gusts up to about 25. continuing to blow any kind of smoke right here towards pittsburgh tomorrow, a hotter day, 94, also more wind gusts up to 25. firefighters will still have to watch any hotspots and the potential spread of this fire. we also wanted to bring you onto something else that we are following. the electra and washburn fire. the washburn fire is the one that is earning the most aggressively. it will be pushing smoke up towards tahoe and the sierra foothills. if you're headed that way, you want to watch out for the smoke. i will be back for a look at the bay area heat and where it gets close to 1

and let's talk about our weather, jeff. we've got a lot of stuff going on this week? >> there is and even the chance for some thunderstorms from a small system. we're tracking what will be moving across california. so let's get you a look at the weather map as it is active and check out everything, all of them important to what will be happening in our weather. we have the high pressure happening and that is helping to bring up the heat. but the new thing as of tonight is just a very small disturbance that is developing and will be moving off to the north around that pulling in some humidity and the chance for some thunderstorms and on top of that we also have the fog in the coastline. a better view with the rain cloud futurecast. you'll see it at 8:00 tonight with the fog developing at the coastline. but you keep your eyes over here. you're going to see this surge of moisture moving up. now most of this is cloud cover at 11:30 tonight, but there's a slight chance that we could see a few isolated thunderstorms pop. we'll see the same thing with that moisture moving up

jeff moore. is our guest and has been following this investigation in a recent headline from the washington times. guest: from what we've talked about with people familiar with the investigation, it sounds like it is nearing a conclusion. it's been a sprawling investigation and its gone on with prosecutor started looking into hunter biden in the waning years of the obama administration. the u.s. attorney of delaware opened his full investigation into hunter biden's taxes in 2018 and since then, it has turned into an investigation into possible gun crimes, possible money laundering, possible foreign lobbying violations. they are looking into a lot of different aspects of this investigation. this has been going on for four years and it sounds like we are coming to a resolution. what that resolution is going to be remains to be seen stuff i talked to several former prosecutors. they tell me how they look at it reading the tea leaves on what could come out and what has happened. we could be going tow
