cheers thank you jeff. all right. san jose's beloved water park is set to reopen this summer with a very noticeable change. a new name for raging waters. when we come back. legendary water park at the end of last summer, raging waters made a surprise announcement it was not renewing its lease and closing for good because of low turnout. then this past february, san jose's mayor matt mahan, said the park will reopen under new management. today, he announced the new name calabanga calabanga. the opening ceremony will be sometime after memorial day. no exact date has been released yet. okay. arming santa clara county sheriff's deputies with tasers. the sheriff wants deputies on the street and in county jail facilities to have the tool in their belts. jail guards have been stripped of tasers since the 1989 death of a man who died after being restrained and tased while in custody. sheriff's office is holding a public meeting to discuss the use of tasers. it will be held tuesday at 6 p.m. at the sheriff's office auditorium.

jeff?kayleigh, the idf has been dropping these fliers in eastern rafah urging civilians they are to evacuate. the israeli military so far describing this as a limited scope operation, saying it is temporary and not a large-scale evacuation. however, this is affecting roughly 100,000 palestinians who lives in eastern rafah. the israeli military has been urging them through not only phone calls but text messages, and those flyers, to move to the muwasi humanitarian zone on the coast north of rafah. as ongoing negotiations between both hamas and israel cleared to be collapsing. ending the latest round of negotiations, there are some reports they could be heading back tomorrow to continue those talks. on that same day, yesterday, there was also a deadly mortar attack on the crossing that the idf says was fired from an area near the humanitarian zone in rafah. hamas claimed responsibility and, during a call with you and defense secretary lloyd austin, israel's defense minister said there is no c

here with more insight, former assistant special agent in charge of the san francisco fbi jeff harp.hanks so much for joining us today, jeff. >> sure, no problem. >> can you tell us more how bad actors could potentially use this rapidly advancing technology to influence the election? >> so the technology changes daily and the threat actors change daily as well. so one of the things they do, when they're hacking into email accounts and hacking into websites and things like that, they'll use a lot of like forged credentials. a lot of us get these emails that say hey, you need to sign in. you need to revalidate your email account. suddenly all that does is gives them the keys to the kingdom. they can get into websites. a lot of these actors are trying really hard constantly probing and pinging different websites for our government facilities, most of which are protected obviously, but it still doesn't prevent them from trying to get in. >> it's scary to see how good these bad actors have gotten at scams and infiltrating different organizations. the director of national intelligence said

jeff is going to be with us in about ten minutes. also tonight, the push to recall oakland mayor shengtao, the group behind that recall, now says it has enough signatures to put the recall on the ballot. the group called oakland united to recall. shengtao says it's collected more than 30,000 signatures for the petition. they only needed 25,000 to get it on the november ballot. those supporting the recall believe mayor tao's policies are to blame for many of oakland's big problems. crime, business closures and the loss of the a's. she's been dismissive. she said that the leaders of the recall were losers. well, look what we losers have done. we have energized and motivated. oaklanders, the county registrar of voters, needs to verify. now, those signatures before it can go on to the november ballot. we have reached out to mayor sheng tao's office for comment. we have not yet heard back. well, here's something fun and we like it. one of the biggest week party weekends of the year. it kicked off today. it's really going to kick off tonig

earlier and of course the fbi did not need jeff to recall the details, they recorded the call.heyun waed him to fail their memory test so they could put a political pelt on the wall. fbi botched the background check, mishandled the u.s. gymnastics sexual assault case, they get really excited going after a congressman. he was tried in california, no interview took place there. they did it because it is easier to convict a republican in california, that conviction was overturned and doj waited until the statute of limitation ran in nebraska to try him in washington, d.c. i'm very familiar with that d.c. you interview, i was there for it, never would have been an interview except for two facts. prosecutors made false states and the congressman wanted to help investigation, he had nothing to hide, he had done nothing wrong, he believed it was his civic duty to cooperate. he trusted federal prosecutors and fbi agents and took them at their word and that proved a fatal mistake. now his career was ruined, life savings depleted, served probation and paid the fine, doj is not satisfied.

thanks, jeff. well, coming up, an american company getting a shot in the arm. literally after it reached a deal to expand its covid vaccine. the grand plan that could help u find youryo the coronavirus and the flu. today, struggling drugmaker novavax announced a multi-billion dollar deal with french drugmaker sanofi. under that deal, both companies will now share their vaccine technology. they say it will allow them to commercialize and produce new vaccines at a faster pace. the deal also allows novavax to continue production of its protein based covid shot. health officials view the shot as a valuable alternative for people who don't want to use the pfizer or moderna vaccine. target stores are making plans for pride month, and this year it will look a little different. you may remember last year, target faced backlash for its pride month collection. it sold home food and beverage items with a pride theme as well as clothing for adults and children. some shoppers were upset that target included children's clothing in the collection, and some of them boycotted t

jeff we'll see you in a bit. well it is official.land international airport is now the san francisco bay oakland international airport, port of oakland officials unanimously approved the name change at its board meeting today. this comes as the city of san francisco files a lawsuit against oakland over that name change, claiming it infringes on the sfo brand. but port officials see it differently and are also taking legal action. nbc's pete tirados is in oakland with the details. if you're flying into oakland, your destination is now the san francisco bay. oakland international airport, and this name change sets the stage for a legal battle between the city of san francisco and the city of oakland, miramar park travelers flying in and out of oakland tonight are surprised to hear that they've arrived at the san francisco bay oakland international airport. first of all, we're in oakland. this is not san francisco. san francisco is over the bridge. karen flew in from las vegas, but grew up in the east bay, so she flies back frequently.

thanks, jeff.still to come, google is laying off hundreds of employees, the jobs being slashed and where s at its office in sunnyvale. the layoffs are happening in what google calls its core organization. those are the tech teams behind google products and systems that protect user online safety. google says it plans to move some of the roles to mexico and india, despite reporting strong first quarter earnings last week. google is following through on a plan to lower the head count by about 6. they made that announcement last year. move over chatgpt. a san francisco based startup, anthropic, launched a free iphone app that aims to make ai more accessible and mobile. it's much like chatgpt, which was created by openai, but the anthropic app lets users upload photos and files from a smartphone. anthropic is heavily backed by amazon. get this they've invested $4 billion into the startup. also in the works plans to launch an android version a heads up for people who recently bought a ford maverick pick
