kron-4's jeff bush is live in oakland at the cal-trans headquarters.where talks are going on. jeff -- what's the latest on negotiations? >> reporter: yes, they are still at it tonight. both sides are willing to come to an agreement. there are going to go to the court on sunday morning and ask an injunction that would establish a 60 day cooling- off period. you can imagine that it is impacting both sides. >> that is the only guarantee that we a train service if we do not have a deal in place by sunday night. we hope that is not the case because we are working very hard. it is a last-ditch effort. everybody is going to get a deal regardless of this announcement. >> we're all the same. we're hoping that this will not throw cold water on what this has been a very, very, slow moving day. it is our intention to want to get a deal. we do not want to put the public in a 60 day cooling off. we feel that this deal can be made. it is our expectation that bart will continue to address the negotiations that we have brought forward. >> reporter: both sides are willing to stick it out. until

i'm jeff bush in oakland, kron four news. riders say they are sick of the drawn out theatrics that cause anxiety and hassle for the commuting public. bart workers and supporters rallied and took to the streets for a march in oakland yesterday. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc-7 news. you can see the crowds marching from frank ogawa plaza to bart's headquarters near lake merritt. streets were shut down as hundreds of union members carried signs. members of other unions came out to support bart's two biggest unions. police were on hand and they surrounded the crowd to keep an eye out for any potential disruptions. but the rally remained peaceful. if the bart strike does happen, commuters are advised to make a back up plan for monday morning. kron 4's pam moore has a look at other ways to get around the bay without bart. other transit agencies now have their plans in place. bart will offer a free shuttle bus service here is a map of the bart stations where you can get on the bus. some buses stop in west oak

reporter: in february a sinkhole opened up underneath a suburban tampa home killing 36-year-old jeff bush who was sleeping in his bedroom. this is how sinkholes are formed. a cavity slowly develops in the limestone bedrock. over time it widens eventually breaking the surface, then the clay and sand above collapse into the hole swallowing everything in its path. repairs can be costly. >> i stepped right here and my foot went down in the hole. >> we thought we'd live and die here. we didn't have a plan b. >> reporter: a plan is what sinkhole inspectors say could prevent destruction. >> behind the stucco the block could be broken. just another sign of sinkhole activity or at least enough for you to know to have your place tested. >> yeah, you see the cracks in that foundation there. advice from inspectors, take every crack seriously. indication your house could be moving or siccing. as for ex-fixes, they can be very, very expensive. sometimes they can pump concrete or they install brackets under your house, essentially stilts. very expensive. tens and tens of thousands of dollars. >> and the

kron 4's jeff bush has more on the new lights. >> it's been three years in making.the new lighting forhe bay bridge. the new span will be illuminated by 48,000 leds and you can see the roadway will be bright and evenly lit for drivers. the lights are pointed in the direction of travel. jim berns caltrans special projects what that does is give the driver no spill and glare as well as better illuminates the objects that are out in front of them and kinda acts like a second set of headlights from overhead and helps them see what's out in better. >> you can see the housing for the lights are very large but what is not large is the power used to light up the roadway. the new system consumes about 60 percent less light than the conventional lights used on the old span of the bridge. >> berns this is a newer technology. the lights on the old bridge are a high pressure sodium light sourcehigh lumens for light but not good for seeing colors and thet type of thing. these are ledlight emitting diodes and produce a whiter colored light as well as having a much longer life of the lamp itself. >> c
