to jeff flock at the walgreens on the south side of chicago where today, they began the inoculations.the underserved communities, and these stretch all across the country. they're not just cities but underserved communities, communities of color, they have been a little slower to get the vaccine for a number of reasons, some of it, you know, just having to do with where they live and their lack of ability to get the technology to make an appointment, and some vaccination concerns. the black community, for example, if you look, associated press has been looking at this, black community in north carolina, makes up 22% of the population. only 11% of the vaccinations. one community, 68% of the population, 82% of the vaccinations. a.p. says this is the case all across the country. so uber has stepped in, offering ten million free rides to those who don't otherwise have one to get to a location like this one, the walgreens here, where they are now handing out the vaccines. as i said, that hesitation on the part of particularly the black community given some of the things that have happened

jeff flock following it all from chicago. jeff? independence, neil, and control you know the oil and gas to go into our gas-powered cars, if we go to evs, who controls those means? at the moment it seems ton china. take a look at the numbers on there, in terms of battery manufacturing. the batteries go into the evs, we make the cars here, but the batteries, 75% of them, if you look at the numbers are made now in china. u.s. makes only about 8%. europe about the same number. here is a bigger problem. even the raw materials going into making those batteries, a lot of that raw material, lion's share in some cases also comes from china. for example, graphite. graph fight is a major component of batteries. sip threat tick graphite, if you look at those numbers, half the synthetic graphite is made in in china. 20% in u.s. and less in europe. gm now, as you may know, that big lordstown, lordstown manufacturing plant, they're building a whole new plant in lordstown, to make batteries. 30 football fields i think it is as big as it is. it is

jeff flock is at a service station in illinois with the very latest. jeff?ple today, liz, look at a rotary phone and go, what's that? well, pretty soon, perhaps, they'll look at what's behind me right there, the shell station here in hinsdale, as you report, and go, what's that? what are those pump things? maybe not tomorrow, but that clearly is the trend. take a look at what shell, as you report, royal dutch shell, big oil is doing when it comes to electric versus gasoline. they have plans by the middle of the next decade or this decade to have 500,000 -- that's half a million -- charging stations. gas stations turned to charging stations. they're going to cut their oil production by between 1-2% each year between now and then. they're going to double their electric power generation, that is to say the stuff that they generate from wind and solar. and they're going to focus their petroleuming business on lucratives and chem chemicals. pretty amazing. ing they've already got 60,000 of these charging stations primarily in europe, a handful of them in the u.s.

jeff flock in illinois joins us. you're at a gas station.dinosaur, stuart, you know. there you go. it is going out of business. with all this electric stuff. this one in particular not to our knowledge, although the folks at shell have a plan to create maybe half a million of these worldwide by the middle of the decade. we got a picture what they look like. shell already has 60,000 worldwide. most of them of course in europe, you know where you pull in just like a gas station and charge up. the big plan by shell though to de-emphasize oil and gas, gasoline that is. as we said, half a million of these charging stations by 2025. they will cut their oil production by between one and 2%. they will double their electric generating capacity through wind and solar over the course of the next decade as well as focus on lubricants and chemicals with their petroleum products. so, locations like this one behind me, the gas station, will it be a dinosaur? by the way oil doesn't come from dinosaurs. you look that one up. if you look at numbers in terms o
