jeff flock in michigan. will michigan lose jobs, jeff?'s what the republicans say, stuart, but as you know, elections have consequences, and right now, the democrats control the building you see back there behind me and they say, you know , if you're getting union representation, you ought to pay for it. that said, most states in the u.s. still have right-to- work laws, 26 states, once michigan law takes effect at the beginning of next year. that said, union membership continues to decline in this country. now down to about 10%. it was 20% in 1983 and most of those workers are in the public sector. about one-third of public sector workers are unionized, just 6% of private sector workers are in unions despite the big push now at amazon and starbucks. unions point out that they get better pay and benefits, about three-quarters of union employees get employee-sponsored healthcare. less than half of non-union workers and so the debate goes on. we listen to both sides as we always do, and now you can too. take a listen. >> its been pretty over

fox business' jeff flock is live from park ridge, illinois this morning with more. rom ohio here. $4.19 in the chicago suburbs. yeah, that's -- well, it's higher than the national average. that's the way the national average is headed. a take a look at the numbers, not pretty. $3.58 the average gallon of regular this morning. that's up three cents overnight, up a penny a day in the last week. it was a lot more expensive this time last year but folks who know say we're headed that way, $4.15 a year ago. you mentioned ohio. yeah, a spike there. up 7% just in the last week. they are still battling with the impacts of a refinery fire there, the refinery still out and refinery is one of the reasons for the spike. in addition, of course to the opec news. maintenance this time of year, we're switching over to blends, the summer blends. they cost more to make. where is it worse in the u.s.? the usual suspects, california and what w hawaii, headed towara dollars a gallon for the illinois is the sixth highest gas prices in the nation, approaching $4. not a whole lot of bullets
