jeff lapse from our camera on lookout mountain. you can see the storm roll through this afternoon. first, clouds and then a lot of rain. ed greene joins us now. luckily, the metro area avoided all that heavy hail. >> we had thunder and showers but not that hail. we had lots of sunshine and temperatures started to heat up but that destabilized the air. it started around callahan. this began to spread, moisture works into the area and there through denver. showers and thunderstorms, very very heavy with a big core of hail. during the evening hours, we have showers and thunderstorms all pretty much diminishing anywhere from an inch to 1.5 inches. el paso county, around colorado springs from 2.2 to 5.2 inches of rain. the potential from this system. it looked like everyone is going it was. we had a lower pressure system with a cop -- clockwise flow. the bull's-eye came together. here it is tomorrow. 2:30 pm, denver all the way down into el paso county. heavy showers and thunderstorms are back. the hour by hour forecast takes you through thursday to show you how long these storms continue. >>> now new details in the hit and run crash
