let's bring in senator jeff merkl merkley, deck rat from oregon.ou for joining us this morning. appreciate your time. i know, sir, talks are in the preliminary phase for another round of stimulus. can you walk us through where things stand right now? would you like to see another bill? >> absolutely. we're anticipating that the small business funds are likely to run out. a little hard to judge because so many businesses have had a hard time applying. but we need to be ready to boost that ability for small businesses to stay open. i think there's a lot of agreement with the administration about additional direct payments. i think there will be other areas where we can reach agreement, such as blocking utility cutoffs and making sure broadband remains available through this, additional support to the counties and states to be able to keep operating. i'm hoping we can get provisions in there for housing and for absentee ballots. there's at least a foundation right now of cooperation to address this crisis between the administration and the house leade
