jeff paul joining us in los angeles, what's the latest? >> another night of peaceful protests as about 1000 demonstrators gathered in downtown los angeles just outside city hall, the first time since saturday the there is no curfew put in place. they were speeches and at times the group broke away for march through the street but no major clashes to report with law enforcement standing by and watching from a distance. there was another protest outside their it garcetti's house. demonstrators are pushing for police reform and lapd to lose funding, the mayor pledged to cut 100-$150 million from the police budget which before the protests was such to increase by $120 million. the seaplanes to repurpose a quarter of $1 billion to where demonstrators have pointed out this funding. other than that there other protests to report throughout southern california, there were ones in long beach and santa clarita but no major issues to report. todd: emotions running high minneapolis his family and loved ones honor george floyd's life. >> the immediate

we begin with the latest from the seattle shop with jeff paul from our l.a. newsroom. good evening, jeff. >> good evening. enough is enough, that's the message from seattle's chief of police if she reacts to the shooting in the so-called chop zone. the latest happening early monday morning. investigators responded to the scene and discovered a jeep cherokee covered in bullet holes. witnesses claim several people had fired shots into the suv. the victims, a 14-year-old male and 16-year-old male were eventually taken away from the chop zone in private vehicles. one was taken to a meeting point with seattle fire department. the other was taken to the hospital. while the 14-year-old is still recovering, the 16-year-old has died at the hospital. chief of police carmen vest saying they need to be able to get back into the area before the situation gets more out of hand. >> i can tell you for my own perspective, we absolutely believe in the cause. >> it was the point of coming to support -- >> as you have reported, the situation, you can see it's dangerous and unacceptable. we

here with a full report on all of this is jeff paul tonight, jeff? >> the protesters claim they walk through an open gate as they try to reach the home of st. louis as mayor, but the couple seen pointing guns and is now viral videos as they feared for their lives. mark and patricia mccloskey said it started when 300 protesters marched through the private community. while the videos don't show it, they say some of the demonstrators smashed through the gates and rushed towards their home. they called 911, armed themselves, and that's where the video picks up appearing to show mark with a rifle and patricia with a handgun where she at one moment appears to point at protesters. >> the storming of the bastille, the gate came down in a large crowd, very angry shouting aggressive people poured throu through. was terrified we be murdered in seconds, her house would be burned down, our pets would be killed. >> a couple's attorney released a statement they acted on their property and this had nothing to do with race. the couple supports the black lives matter
