let's go back to jeff pegues. jeff? >> yeah, charlie.ndering today. we're looking into that. we're trying to confirm that. what i can tell you about paul manafort is, you know, again, we don't know what these charges are going to be. we should find out if the next couple of hours. what we should know is he is key to this russia investigation. i say that because when he joined the trump campaign, he joined as a volunteer in march of 2016 and then in april and maehl of 2016 he started rising to the top of the trump campaign and eventually became the campaign chairman until august. now, that's important because not only have investigators really been scrutinizing his contacts with russian billionaires, these ol' go oligarchs. they've been looking into the liabilities of the russian billionaires, and part of that involves some of the activity taking place over the summer while he was campaign chairman. there have been reports and we have reported that he agreed to brief a well known russian oligarch while he was campaign chairman. we don't k

jeff pegues is in washington with new details about what police are learning. jeff?ight hours into this investigation, details are still fluid at this point, and so we might be getting changes. one of the thilgs that we've heard over the last several minutes is that this suspect, this shooter did have now, what we're being told by our federal law enforcement sources is the contacts with police were of a local nature in that he was having some sort of run-ins with local police there. we're not sure exactly what that means, whether it was a parking ticket. it was nothing that rose to the level of federal law enforcement and it doesn't appear to be anything that was extremely serious or anything that would have at least from outward signs led up to the type of shooting that we saw. for the most part, he was not on law enforcement radar as someone you have to watch for or be on the lookout for. that's part of the thinking going into this investigation in the early stages now. they know that he's 64 years old or was 64 years half from where the attack occurred. we also kn
