let's begin with jeff ranieri, who is tracking the surf. jeff. >> right now, credibility bio reports indicate 4 to 7 feet so it is beginning to build. high surf advisory in effect for all beaches as we look at swells 10 to 15 feet coming out of the west-northwest. breakers as high as 15 to 20 feet. when it comes to the water, at the beaches, you're advised to stay out of the ocean. if you insist on going in, do not turn your back to the ocean waves, a high risk of sneaker waves that do that, just sneak up on you and pull you out to sea. worst conditions thursday, where we could have large swells every 16 seconds. tracking our full forecast and any somehow we are chances in 15 minutes. >>> so the big waves could give mavericks the green light. and this time, women will be riding the waves. but there is some concern. robert handa is in half moon bay this evening where the coastal commission is meeting as we speak. robert, what's the issue there? >> reporter: well, i'll tell you. everybody here is excited about the possibilities of the upcoming

jeff ranieri here. going to be good skies. >> yeah, beautiful, no matter where you're headed across the polls here throughout the bay area. you're going to be standing probably in some long lines and weather is going to cooperate. let's get you into the microclimate forecast as we head throughout at least the next few hours and a beautiful sunset, no matter where you are in the bay area. a weak disturbance moving over california, to help produce this array of colors throughout the sky. san francisco, right now, 67 degrees. and we'll see low 60s as we head throughout the next few hours. as we head into tomorrow morning's forecast, i don't think we'll start off too overcast. we'll have fog at the immediate coastline, though, here in the peninsula and 54. otherwise, partly sunny for the south bay and 55. throughout the east bay, we begin in the mid 50s and go as cold as 47 here for the north bay. temperatures start off in the cooler side. we have plenty of warm air on the way as we head throughout tuesday.

let's start with chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. >> we get a look at the national satellite/radar picture, see two areas of focus. we have a storm system moving in across the pacific northwest, that will cause some delays for tonight. also, another storm in the midwest heading toward the east coast. in terms of realtime delays at this very moment, we're running 33 minutes behind at newark airport. dallas also 30 minutes behind. so really not that bad considering the two storms we have on the map. throughout california, again, green is good here. from san francisco down to los angeles, no delays at the current moment. as we get you into your thanksgiving day forecast, if you're traveling on the roads, interstate 80 will be icy at times. highway 50 also slick as we've had some recent snowfall. highway 101, sunny all the way down to los angeles. interstate 5 will be dry. but if you're headed anywhere near the pacific northwest, we can expect rain. i'll have details on a new storm headed our way by friday. that's in about 15 minutes. >> okay, thanks so much, jeff. >>> well, people are already

let's start with our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. and sxwrjeff, what's the timeli? >> the storm is continuing to move in across the bay area. starting to ramp up. you can see these areas of yellow on the doppler radar. that's indicating some heavy rainfall. it's now on the way from san francisco down the peninsula. we'll take you to the north bay. it has been most consistent here over the past two hours from santa rosa to petaluma. it's now beginning to push off to the south and also the east and starting to impact san francisco with some pockets of heavier rainfall. right now moving through the arena. the sunset also down toward the embarcade embarcadero. the east bay starting to see activity as well increase from berkeley to orinda down to oakland and moraga. for the south bay little to nothing but over the next three hours this heavier pocket of rainfall eventually will make it to the south bay. i'll have more details on exactly how much rain and a look at any airport delays in about ten minutes. >> we'll see you then. thank you, jeff. as you heard, the north bay

ranieri is trking e jeff jeff...the kido minutes igo, looks pretty gloomy outside for some of us. jeff, the kids don't mind. it's the parents that get involved here. >> and the storm system sped up by four or five hours and this is making a huge difference in the forecast for the trick or treaters. and we're seeing a little bit of a more moderate, slightly heavier pocket approaching mill valley into lucas valley so this is really where it's going to be the worst for trick or treaters as we head throughout the next couple of hours. if you're taking the kids from one location to another. it's beginning to pick up for the peninsula. this is heading over towards san mateo. eventually towards palo alto, los altos and atherten. you'll see it's still dry in the south bay and the east bay. but we're forecasting the possibility of rainfall for the east and the south bay. i think the better chance for those areas to get rainfall would be by 8:00 tonight. temperatures by 57 by 10:00 p.m. and still a chance of lingering showers. we're tracking the forecast right through tuesday and big change

but let's check in with our local meteorologist, jeff ranieri. >> and it's not always a lock on above average or below average rain. it's not as easy as el nino which we know can provide quite a surge in moisture. what specifically does la nina and its impact mean for us? it means el nino is officially done. really, you can't have one pattern unless the other one is gone. so, el nino is done, lanina has arrived and now the unusually dry weather we're facing this month in november. whenever you is a global weather pattern moving in, it can provide extremes and in terms of our winter ourtlook, 65% chance that it continues through winter and what i'm seeing right now is near average rain chances and the potential of slightly above normal temperatures throughout winter. that again is what we know right now. as we get you outside to our high definition sky camera. temperatures were mild. near 80 at the san jose airport and we'll see temperatures eventually to the 50s as we head to the overnight hours with cloud cover continuing to increase. we're seeing some of those clouds all moving in a

jeff ranieri joins us now. you've been saying all along it's been dry on thanksgiving day. >> it does look like we'll get some rainfall here. once we hit friday and saturday's forecast. most immediately, even with two storm systems on the map, we're doing okay. we have this one moving in here across seattle and portland. another one heading toward the east coast, in terms of realtime delays, this very moment, the only delay we have is down here in miami, running 30 minutes behind, otherwise, green means good to go here from san francisco to los angeles. nothing in terms of delays due to weather. as we head into thanksgiving, it's going to be slick and icy at times on i-80, near tahoe, the same thing goes for highway 50. highway 101 sunny, all the way down toward los angeles. i-5, dry travel. the only wet weather we'll encounter is if you head from the bay area to the pacific northwest. portland and seattle will see rainfall through thanksgiving. i'll have more on the time line of this in 10 minutes. >> whether
