homes and businesses remain under evacuation order. >> let's bring in chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. this is what we've been waiting for the past week and a half, jeff. are we on the right track here when it comes to our air quality? >> i think most certainly. you know, it's all due to that fog in the coastline. we have two days in a row helping to bring out the air. right now getting this headway is so extremely important. this first graphic i'm starting off right now, i wanted to put it into perspective the actual fire danger. these are the same numbers firefighters use to rate the fire danger. so it's on a scale. fire burn index is 75 tonight. that's a big drop from where we've been lately. we're still considered to be in the high category as you can see right here, but tomorrow it drops to 47, which is considered moderate. and that, again, is due to the fog we have at the coastline, increased moisture and winds that do not look too gusty. that is good news. of course, we've had just so many acres burned, over 747,000 acres across the bay area burned. temperatures right now in th
