and i want to thank the sfmta director jeff tumlin and also spent time with us too. it's really, really about outreach, talking to merchants, neighbors, and those who will be impacted by any project really. in this case geary, and also appreciate highlighting the fact that you are coordinating with sfpuc to really thinking about going through the process of construction what we can do together that is not that we pave the road and then rip off a road and then try to do something else again. so, and the coordination among the city agencies is really a way to go to streamline and to be more efficient with the way that we do capital improvements last, but not least, i also appreciate learning from phase 1 that we are going to provide business support to the geary boulevard merchants in the richmond. and i really look forward to seeing that some of those conversations take place. so, colleagues, i urge to have your support today and i do like to make the motion to move this item forward for approval, and thank you again for cta and sfmta for your work on this. >> chair m

i don't know, jeff -- >> director tumlin: we agree. chief scott agrees. main constraint now is for different set of reasons than sfmta and the san francisco police department is also facing a significant staffing challenge now. they are working on their own recovery just as we are working on our recovery and we continue to partner to the extent that we can. >> director heminger: i know you and i had some conversations about this. there's a model that exist where we would pay for their enforcement. job one for them is to get staffed up so they can have somebody over there we can pay. i hope we can consider that. i know we got the budget coming up in a few minutes here. when we do have the budget, it's probably going to require some dedicated resource from us to them to get these new locations enforced and to get the ones that come after and after that enforced. i hope you'll take that under consideration. >> director tumlin: would argue, right now resources are not the constraint for hiring at sfpd. >> director heminger: what is? >> director tumlin: perhap
