jefferson and fdr. in your opinion who has written the best two or three biographies on a president? >> autobiography, nobody did it better than grant. i know i'm in the south and i -- at least i didn't say sherman. at least i said -- [laughter] at least i said grant. grant's memoirs are truly a wonderful book. now, he had help. the story goes he got some ghost writing for mark twain so you couldn't do much better than that. but that's a wonderful book to read even in the south. so i'd always direct somebody to grant's memoirs. as for biographies, there are so many. there's so many, and they keep coming out. you mentioned flexner's multi-volume biography of washington. chernow has a very good volume, the best one-volume if you want to cover the whole of washington. there's some great books about periods of washington life. washington's crossing is a really good book about washington crossing the delaware. i hope to do a little bit like that, i hope in my own short way dealing with another period focused

washington i'm a tenant organizer with the central sro collaborative (clapping) and i live at the jeffersonotel i've been in and out of that hotel for over 20 years and i've seen a whole lot come and go from this neighborhood i do not want to see the police officers that police officers my neighborhood i have no problem with the new mall with the west malibu have a problem with those places being in my district now on the response time no office captain chief suhr in his but the response time is slow already i don't think we can afford the malls in our district with the shoplifters and a lot of people feel will get more attention for the police calls and hope they will respond to faster would it be the mall someone in my neighborhood i live at the jefferson hotel right down the street under the station and the response time is still slow i don't think i'll be getting the responsiveness time this is needed for the people that are drug addicted so on and so forth and i want my police force police to stay in my neighborhood because i love them all it was really freaking me out on the shooting
