this all happening last june on a hiking trail in lafayette.johanna jefferies says she saw the man collapse and go into convulsions as she hiked up on the trail.and called 9-1-1 for help. it was really alarming because his eyes were rolled up into his head and i thought he was dying. the air rescue team flew until they rendezvoused with the tactical flight officer and a fire paramedic who had been flown in first to assess the patient's condition.they determined that he was critical and needed to be airlifted out of there. he was unconcious, his skin was clammy, he was cold it was the first hot day of the summer.and we knew we needed to get him out standup those on the scene during that day in june say it was unseasonably warm, and the tempatures, the rigorous hike and the believe that the hiker hadn't been drinking enough water caused him to go into distress. back on the ground sherriff deputy mike ireland hooks the patient already outfited in a harness called a screamer suit.and together with the fire paramedic they fly the unconcious man to an ambulance waiting at the closet possible stag
