jeffrey phillips took this video in anderson county. this is of a dam in piedmont where you can't even see the walkw because the wate right over it. dottie starnes sent in this view of chestnut ridge road in gaffney... which was completely impassable ... don't want to drive through that. and this video from stephanie wells out of greenwood county is right by the 72 by pass. this is sample creek which the viewer says looks more like sample river...you can see the lampost coming out of the water. we got one call after that watched helplessly as water backed up into the house. so we talked to insurance experts about what you should know. most policies cover home damage from water leaking through the roof or a burst pipe inside yourhome. but they do not usually cover rising water or sewage backup ... now... if you're forced out of youhouse because of flooding... your basic policy may include "loss of use" coverage. that's where you're reimbursed for lodging and other expee. we found out flood insurance runs about $700 dollarayear on average
