and now, please join me in welcoming professor jeffrey sachs and miroslav lajek president of the 72ndpplause ] i am honored to introduce to you a great leader in the cause of sustainable development and peace, the foreign minister of the republic of slovakia and the new president of the united nations general assembly. miroslav lacjak. >> hello global citizens. this is my daughter laura. she told me long ago how great this concert is and what a great crowd you are. i opened the united nations general assembly this week and told the world leaders we need to do better and we need to do more. there are at least three reasons for that. first, we need to stop wars and we need to prevent the future ones from breaking out. so it's peace. the second one is our planet. we must achieve the sustainable development goals and fight climate change. third is the people. we must protect and defend the human dignity and human rights of every single person, including those who are forced to leave their homes. and we need to do this all to protect and preserve our planet for future generations. for you,
