you have your big jeffries conference coming up. how big does this chime with what your thoughts are. >> it's an interesting time tuk about health care. health care has had a phenomenal run share price performancewise. these bear markets and recovery we've come out with we've seen health care outperformance and markets and extend that we haven't seen in past markets. >> and the bear markets in pharma stocks have been pretty deep, right? >> absolutely. feeling that we've gone through the -- >> we've gone through the bottom of it? >> so the bottom of it we've seen and now we're start to go look at the price lines again. so it's a very interesting time. if we look at the conference we're hosting this week, we're expecting thousands of people to attend. >> what are they looking for? i've had the view that the biggest pharma companies in a way have gotten too big. i can't make buying the blockbuster drug to justify the size of the company and the value that it's put on them. >> what we've seen is that income investors have been buying in

piper jeffries top ranked analyst joins us. gene, you say better than expected lines soap better than expected sales? >> yes. keep in mind expectations were pretty low. the ipad air, only 35 to 40% of total ipad units, keep that in mind. and overall slightly better. we weren't expecting to see anybody in line today and we saw modest lines. >> bigger launch to watch will be the mini. what are you expecting. what can we glean with the december quarter? >> well, as far as ipad, it's going to roll out at some point in the next couple weeks, they haven't given a definitive date. let's call it 65%. and really, this is going to be the one that drives the ipad units. in total, it's 25% of apple's business. so it's important that that gets off to an important launch, a big launch. this is not as critical. as far as the december quarter, still all about the iphone, 57% of sales this quarter. obviously off to a fast start. they are having a hard time. so production will be the key to that number for the december quarter. >> all right. gen

>> i mean, i think, you know, jeffries has been with the company a long time.s really the mastermind behind the brand. and i think he's done a really good job creating the brand. but, you know, with -- i agree with howard on the changing teen landscape. i think they have done some progress on the women's side in terms of bringing in fashion. but really with that change, you could need to see a change in management to kind of take it to the next level and shift up their merchandise. that said, i do think they have the right initiatives in place now. you know, they look at their traditional merchandise, and they say it is too similar between seasons. so now they're going to implement some seasonal attributes to really drive freshness and newness while also putting more processes and procedures in place on the women's side and the fashion business to help from fashion mishaps such as testing and read and react. you know, down the road, i do think that they'll do the right thing with management and put the right management in place to execute on these initiatives.
