jonas max ferris along with john and jehmu green. john, lawmakers using scare tactics for 85 billion in cuts, but you say the real scare is not cutting at all? >> yeah, you better believe it. look, when you have no facts and you use emotions and fear. oh, my god, children are going to starve to death in our streets and air traffic shut down. that's when you don't have facts. and both sides are doing this, both sides refusing to cut. look, according to president obama's own budget, we're going to run trillion dollar deficits ten years from now. and ten years and about 48 trillion dollars over the next ten years, we're trying to cut 1 trillion. instead of 40 cents of every dollar we're asking our government to borrow 38 cents a dollar. if a company can't cut 2%, not much less the entire 40% that we're borrowing, something's wrong. this is fear mongering at its worst. >> well, jehmu, do we have reason to be afraid? are you scared? >> yes. and we absolutely have reason to be afraid, brenda. how do you spell bad news for the company? s-e-

jehmu, let's start with you. what is your reaction? >> good morning, martha.in the lyric from the ronnie dunne song we all bleed red. now this campaign has really good intentions, and they can check something off of their box because by being provocative, they wanted to start a conversation. they wanted to have a dialogue taking place outside of one of the flare-ups or controversial moments or moments of crisis in which we usually talk about racism. and they wanted to have an honest dialogue and create a safe space for that. i think they have done that. now is the provocativeness, has it pushed the campaign to be the center of the attention and maybe taking away from the conversation they have created? probably just a little and i think they have made some adjustments to it. to come to the point, if you ignore racism, it is not going to go away. martha: michael, what do you think? >> i can't imagine a better way to promote racism to point at people, hey, look at color of your skin, you, your skin color. look what it does to you, for you, about you. that of cou

let's bring in angela and jehmu greene and former president of the women's media center. nice to see you. okay, let me ask you first, angela, it sounds like more finger pointing when the president says that washington needs to get out of the way. is he talking about congress? >> he is talking about himself and congress and get out of the way and let the private sector. the only way i can reduce poverty and increase prosperity is by free markets and capitalism and not bigger government. what we have seen with the obama administration has been more bureaucracy and bigger government and more regulation and more spending and less prosperity. you can see it in the job numbers. >> jamie: smud should we read anything into the fact that the president is focused on gun control and immigration, given the fact we're still getting these numbers and so many people are out of work? >> i'm confident that the president can do two things at the same time. when you talk about letting the private sector do its thing, that is exactly what has been happening. i think it is interesting when yo
