but jehmu, let me jump in here with you. social security, medicare, medicaid all comparable programs had bipartisan support, not obamacare. and look, i got to tell you, it's been almost four years, people still don't like it. i looked at the recent cnn orr policy, 62% oppose obamacare. that number could increase if people get higher premium, big deductibles, lost doctors, worse care, et cetera, et cetera. >> i have to admit that i was one of those folks who in the last minute did sign up on the new york health exchange. but i also need to correct the record on obamacare being unpopular. when you look at those poll numbers, you're also including people in there who are liberals who thought that it didn't go far enough. so you really have to actually divide out the people who don't like anything obama does and the liberals who thought obamacare, the affordable health care act should have gone further. i agree with probably 95% of what bob said. amen. that's a surprise, because can you imagine a republican congressman who goes

[laughter] jehmu, 50 years of an exceedingly frosty relationship. >> yes.nk on a day like today we should all ask ourselves what would nelson mandela do? it wasn't a conversation, it wasn't a diplomatic meeting, it was a handshake, and at the celebration of a man whose entire life was focused on bringing people together, who disagreed on very big issues, i think a handshake is the type of world we want to live in. you know, we can't also forget that there are so many families who have been separated by 90 miles of water. of it is not -- bill: that's very true, and a lot of those families would tell you it was the castros who separated them. >> well, i think where we are right now in looking at those families who are separated because our leaders have failed, it's not the fact that cubans and americans can't get along, our leadership has failed on this on both sides of the aisle. so if we can start with a handshake as a step in the right direction to maybe bring these families back together, i think that that's a good thing. but again -- bill: >> -- thinking

joining us now for a look at 2014 and, well, everything, fox news contributor, jehmu greene. good to see you. what do you make of the number? >> well, you know, it's like the song, the sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar, and it did for obamacare. clearly, the rollout, the first few weeks of the web site was abysmal. but this is what was supposed to happen all along. there was never any doubt i, i think, in anyone's mind that there were millions of americans who were desperate for health insurance. and they do what we all do in paying taxes or buying christmas presents, they waited until the last minute, and there has been this surge. these are just the numbers from the federal exchange. i think when we get those numbers from the state exchanges, we're going to be even closer to that goal. the hiccup at the beginning means we're not going to reach those initial numbers that were targeted, but we still have time. this is about getting more accessibility and affordability into this market. dagen: but you admit that a couple, some critical things that we don't yet
