he taught since 2004, and directed many shows including " jekyll and hyde," beauty and the beast," and "seussical." he used numerous and elementary schoolchildren in the cast as determined whos. students went to special matinees of the show and learned they can pursue an education in the arts at the public arts high school. that was the best out reach the could have. his work won numerous awards for himself and his students. he was given a fellowship a few years ago to study in poland by the san francisco foundation, and was a recipient of the dream catcher award. he was an artist to chose to work with students in the public schools. he was a brilliant director, designer, and producer, whose vision had permanent impact on arts and education in san francisco. that included the complete renovation of the theater, all with donations from students, parents, and community members. this is a testimony of his devotion to the school. he led two departments and help students get to college. he kept in touch with them after they left and was a mentor and a source of support to many young artists
